Jerry was also on Dirt Jobs. I did see the body and was like what the heck. Also I wonder how long the Buells can run since they are no longer being produced.
Just thought I would throw out some info on why you do not see Busa motors on big tire bikes that run below 7 seconds in the 1/4... Because they come apart.
The cases on the Hayabusa just cannot stand the torque a big tire bike puts on them. They are nowhere near as thick as the old GS cases and the transmissions are nowhere near as beefy. Under hard acceleration the cases flex causing all sorts of problems.
There is only one person I know of who has not given up on trying to get a Hayabusa engine to survive the rigors of a big tire and that is Chris Cutsinger. He is trying to campaign a Hayabusa powered Funnybike and has had it in the high 6's. He has literally destroyed nearly every engine on the bike so far from the cases flexing.
The only hope for a Hayabusa powerplant to get in NHRA ProStock is if the rules are changed to allow billet cases. But that will never happen since the Hayabusa is not manufactured by Harley Davidson.
