Are they jerkin my chain?

Some really good thoughts and info, can't tell you guys how valuable this forum is for me and many others like me.

I went into a new local stealership today which is close to home, but turns out, it is just another location for a big corporation which has somewhat of a monopoly on the sportbike arena in the North Alabama area.

Anyhow, I go in asking about a busa, and he says they haven't gotten Suzuki rights for that location yet, and then he starts showing me the new Victory cruisers, designed and endorsed by Arlen Ness.

I had to admit that they are much nicer looking bikes than most Harleys for about the same money, but I looked at him after he gave his pitch and replied "it ain't a busa though."

Then he tells me he might be able to find for me a red 04 limited, but it could be pricey. They are $6500 and $8500 on the blue book.

Anyhow, I just don't think I wanna give nearly double digits for a bike that might have been petted roughly. Maybe not even serviced, you know.

I figure I may end up paying an extra grand or two, but with the cost of gas, time factors, and the peace of mind having a 1 year factory warranty, I think I will end up about even. I bought an 03 Polaris 700 twin quad about 3 years ago, and during the first 6 months, it's factory warranty covered over $1000 worth of repairs it needed right out of the gate.

Anyway, I guess I better just wait to see the unveiling of the 07, or I could make a huge mistake. Hopefully someting will break soon on the Suzuki website regardless of when they hit the showroom floor.

Mucho thanks for these OTD figures guys. It not only helps me know what the dealer has in his hand, it also helps to know who isn't trying at all to meet me halfway. Since I need to do business with them in the long run, if I know they are being fair on the initial sale, it makes me feel better going back to them, when I need to do business down the road.
