Somewhere out there, someone is getting paid to come up with new terms describing old ideas.

Example, I'm an Air Traffic Controller. I work in a Tower. A group of Towers are a Hub. Well now someone, who gets paid to come up with worthless shiat, has decided to rename Hubs as Districts.

Now think of all the money taxpayers have to pay to change the name on countless forms, certificates, etc... Its is soo retarded...

Be careful of quoting science. You may forget something or missuse the science.

Example,
I was a crewchief on a Huey helicopter. Part of my job was to check the tension of the tail rotor cables. A pilot tried to get me in trouble because the cables were too loose one morning. I had checked them the afternoon before and he didn't believe me. I told him on cold mornings the cables tend to become loose. He quoted some science and said that metal shrinks when it gets cold therefore the cables should be tighter than yesterday afternoon. I told him I can't explain why, but my experience has always been that the cables get loose in the cold.
2 days later a master mechanic explained why I was right. The structure of the tail boom is aluminum and the cables are steel. The aluminum shrinks and expands more for a given temperature than steel does. So in this case the tailboom shrank more while the cables shrank less, making them loose.

Coefficient of thermal expansion you`ve been reffering to is in fact scientific evidence.
It would make all the difference If you knew at the moment that aluminum Fractional expansion per degree in F 13X10^-6 vs Steel 7.2X10^-6

Everyone has "fetishes". Heck, I've worn girl clothes and makeup as a kid for laughs, but never got "into" it.
