I don't have any proof  you culled my email address from this board (aside from that this seems to be the only forum that you have posted to regarding "AlteredChrome" and your chainguards), but since you posted here recently (regarding your products; all of your posts seem to be commercial in nature) I will post this here:

Never send me spam emails me again. I contacted Yahoo and SSBC Global Network (see routing info below), and forwarded this email to several of the better-known spam filters.

Mods:
I believe this board to be where my email address was culled from. I will have to hide it, and probably not use it directly in future posts to help reduce the likelyhood that this happens again. Not a big deal, but I shouldn't have to - at least not to hide it from other "members".

My question to the "mods": what do you think about this? Has anyone else received emails from this guy? Assuming that my email came from here, do you think that this is the way that you want the board used - as someone's "customer database", someone that hasn't really participated in the community except to promote the chrome chainguards that they sell?

Mike

I'm just curious here. Did you contact contact him privately to get taken off of his mailing list and then continue to get mails from him? Or, was public humiliation the first step in your process to get him to not mail you? Not saying that you're wrong or he's right, just trying to get all the facts. :super:

If you got one mail and fired off with this, maybe you over reacted a little. If you asked him to stop contacting you and he continued anyway then I think maybe this is justified. Just my $.02 though... worth every penny of what it cost you. ;)

All the years that I have been on this board, I have never gotten unwanted e-mail. My e-mail is very public, and I have got tons of inquires from members but no spam. I have not heard of others getting spam either, which does not mean they did not get any. I do not think spam is good at all and especially if it is not wanted. Once info is requested then it is fair game until shut off. Hope you guys get this worked out.

amsctalx, I agree with you, this board should not be used for a "customer" database, or the likes. I hate when people do that because once it makes it on one list it eventually makes it to all of the other lists. its particularly worse when this happens to a private mail addy that you have to pay for. I for one do not want to see ONE SINGLE unsolicited e-mail in a box that I have to pay for! it should be PRIVATE! and it ruins that e-mail address forever! so bullet you have to understand that once may be too much. if I need some more size to my unit, I like most others have enough skills to research the net and find my own sources, I can find loans, porn, MOTORCYCLE PARTS and anything else sold on the net easily with one search engine. I hate paying for a mailbox and having to sift through all the crap to get to the ones I want and I shouldnt have to set up filters or blockers in an effort to keep them out... I dont think I have had any mail from this particular spammer, but then again I dont look too closely at them.

I asked him awhile ago not to PM folks on the board pimping his stuff. I recommended he just keep posting threads and those that were interested would prolly hop aboard. Sounds like that just wasn't active enough for him. You should be able to find him over at SH.org as well if you want to get hold of him.

He didn't react in a negative manner at the time, just seemed a bit pissed off.

Anyone else been getting unwanted PMs? If you are getting unwanted email from him I would just let him know your not interested. Unwanted board PM's? Let a Board Admin know.
