chinto, you did not state which Motorola radio you have. I use a T6500 GMRS for many outdoor activities. I can turn off the talk confirmation tone by holding the "+" button down while turning the radio on. Most, if not all, of the beeps and tones can be turned on or off. If you've lost your instruction manual, you can download it in pdf format from Motorola's site if it's a model that is not too old.
I've not yet bought a communications unit for my bike. I appreciate any feedback on which products work well.
