its hot over here in NM too, not 120 hot but around 110 some days, people who say "dry heat" have no clue what it is like to walk outside and instead of feeling muggy, feel physical pain of the sun beating down on your skin, walking from my job to the car is painful some days, but hey, gotta love the desert...

I have lived in both and must say I prefer a dry heat, at least you get relief when you get in the shade, the humidity will follow you no matter what, the temp is the same in the shade or not. With the dry you can step in the shade and the sun will stop baking your skin and you can just be hot and not on fire.
 
Here is what I have to deal with... It was a little chilly on the ride to work at 6 this morning!

i hear ya...the hospital i work in has had no ac since last week and ppl are dropping like flys at work
 
That reminds me of the couple that drives past the bank, and she says to hurry up, we're late. He replys that's not the time, that's the temperature
