The history of lithium batteries isn't the key issue here... it is the increase in demand for a limited resource that has been discovered to be found in substantial quantities in Afghanistan that is important to note.
VERY odd, the US would even initiate a pull out knowing there are around $1trillion in Li in Afghanistan...no wonder the Chinese are cozying up to the Taliban.....

This Li was found mid 2000's and the Afghan President had a deal with a US contracting firm for it....

Where did that go??

Lithium is the new oil and wars were fought over that at the drop of a hat....

...oh....really....saying he felt love for the insurgents (who were sporting confederate flags, proud boys tee shirts, 3 percenters...these are the people drawn to Mr. Trump....and all in the crowds he garnered....

These are his people, he even defends the flying of the confederate flag and said Gen Lee was one of the best American generals in history who was fighting for his country and way of life....really?? You saw the videos, you already know the deal on how he thanked the insurgents, told them they did their best and then professed his love for them....

Biden is not the man but I guarantee you Trump is not either, not by a long shot.
You are speaking of the extremist... the lions share of the people that attended that day were peaceful and many of them were not inside the capitol... some that were walked in between the roped off areas in the rotunda and damaged and or attacked nobody. To say all them that were there to support Trump and participated in damaging and attacking the US Capitol and attacking the politicians inside is part of the propaganda coming from the MSM. We even have Capitol police opening gates and showing protestors the way into the building... yeah... that is real out of hand behavior... sarcasm intended. meanwhile... the capitol policeman shoots and kills a protestor with no warning and his name is protected... and the media says nothing about race when a black cop shoots a white unarmed women.

The leftist marxist democrats own the media in the USA... don't you know that?

As far as the confederacy goes... they don't speak for the bulk of America... however... the Confederate flag only became an issue with the left, BLM, and other extreme groups in recent years... I never noticed the TV show "Dukes of Hazard" taking a political hit and or boycott when that was running for years.

So, what changed? The victimhood mentality promoted by the leftist took hold in America by the sheeple that are more comfortable complaining about stuff that happened a 150 plus years ago than they are about living in the present and moving forward with making their life better. Its that whole reparations crap and poor me mentality that my distant dead relatives lived in slavery... what a joke... black slave owners were the first ones to sell blacks into slavery... yes... white men also got involved... but living into the future while looking backwards at the past is a sure way to preserve a victimhood mentality. The laws have been changed... a black ( half black according to him ) man was elected to president... a black man sits on the Supreme Court, Black men have succeeded spectacularly in business and sports... and on and on it goes... the struggle for equality after all the barriers have been broken... these BLM racist really suck in my opinion.

Nothing changed. In the 70's and 80's there was plenty of talk, at least in segregated places like Los Angeles, about the confederate flag and it's nazi like origin. The pre internet and social media era kept many unaware. When mentioned, it was ignored by the ignorant, which by the way is a fitting word to describe the rest of the quote.

Smoke this... in 1958 a poll was conducted that asked if interracial marriages should be made legal. Only 4% agreed. A recent poll with the same question is now affirmed as positive by 95% of the current population. Isn't interracial marriage a point of contention as it regards racism? It might have been a Gallop poll... I am good with remembering numbers and I heard this a day or two ago. Is it true? How do you know for certain anything you hear is true?

White and black water fountains ended in 1964 in El Segundo California ( LA County ) according to the local old folks... I use to live there in the 90s when the Raiders played there... talk about a discriminating bunch of fans! So... racism has been turning back in a positive direction for a long time. Racism is pretty much a learned behavior from the family culture of an area where it is found. It was brought to my attention decades ago that toddlers left to their own ways with each other when playing exhibit no racist type of behavior. They don't care what color the other kids are that they are playing with. They haven't attached a meaning to the color of one's skin yet.

The Nazi thing is still with us... its a extremist position / philosophy. The world will always possess some percentage of extremist. I wouldn't make that a focal point these days. The world of chaos is upon us now by the embolded power hungry lunatics that want to run it all. ( Example, CCP ) They speak openly about it in their writings... example... David Rockefellars book of memoirs. For me people like David he isn't much different fundamentally than graffiti artist / drug dealers marking their territory and selling their commodities... other than the philanthropy component of their lives ( where were they going to spend their billions anyway?) they aren't much different from the rest of the bunch that wants control over the local turf and... for the wealthy... add in the distant turf.

If I understand the point you're trying to make, it's flawed. I lived in Los Angeles 30 years until 1993, and I assure you the attitude towards racism is night and day different between there and here in the Midwest. Sure, racists exist but the ratio is not even close regionally. That's why I made the comment about the confederate flag. You stated that no one had a problem with it until recent years, and that is completely incorrect.

Did the TV show titled Dukes of Hazard suffer in the ratings because the General Lee had a Confederate flag on the roof? I didn't hear an uproar of negative public sentiment during the time it was on TV, did you? Perhaps there was a vocal concern in the public, but, I never noticed it.

If you did hear it... it was simply more victim hood mentality on display. The war against slavery was won a long time ago... the remnants of racism will alway carry forward through the ignorant population that sees the world from a different bias position. Its a bias that has little understanding of the meaning of what it means to be alive in a world full of possibilities no matter what color you are.

Biden sold out the USA to China... Biden likes China... China has contributed much to the Biden crime family through Hunter. Hunter still owns some financial benefit connected to China at the last report.

Biden wants the USA to accept the ways of the CCP that controls the people of China. Social credit scoring for one... another new draconian measure is now reported that amounts of money transacted over $600 is now under consideration to be reported by every financial institution to the IRS.

The whole world has been sold out to China for years...and long before Biden became president.

Even as far back as the '90s there were the "made in China" stickers on almost everything..

Big corporation and greed sold out to China not the government.

Sold-out my azz! Everything used to have a made in Japan sticker on it. Did we sell out to Japan? What we did was buy the cheapest brand regardless of its origin. How many Toyota pickups are in Texas? Did Texans sell out? And the ‘Biden crime family’? Gimme a friggin break. Are they supposed to be the Sopranos with world wide ambitions? And you give us the ‘draconian‘ blah blah blah with no source to back it up.

Yes, this conversation is going in circles. I said, in my circle of friends or place in the world, there was plenty of conversation about the immorality behind displaying the confederate flag. Victim hood mentality? What gives you the right to decide when a wrong has been righted, when said wrong wasn’t inflicted on you?

The TV show "Dukes of Hazzard" is not on TV anymore even in re--runs (at least here). When it and many other TV shows and movies were made, it was a different time, there would have been no vocal concern over it at the time. I believe social media has become the eyes of the world, in the days before social media, there might have been many people who objected but had no platform from which to voice their displeasure.

The confederate flag as always been a symbol, and not a good symbol..it should have been outlawed as soon as the confederates surrendered. It much like the Nazi and Japanese battle flag do not have a place in modern society. I once had a tee shirt with the confederate flag on it and wore it all over the place...I was ignorant to what it stood for, I thought it was kind of a country boy symbol...once I looked deeper into it's origin and why it existed, that tee shirt got thrown away.

Racism is alive and strong the world over. It is not just black on white racism, it is every culture and ethnic group against each other.

Oddly enough when I was in the Congo and other African nations, the thought of racism is not existent, not one (black) person I met judged me by my skin color nor I them and we all got along just fine.

I had a Canadian operator with me who happens to be black and he said there was much more racial tension when he was in the US. Some white US SOF guys would talk down to him even though he had 3-4 times more experience than they did and was in a mentoring role.

Nixon was the president that helped establish trade relations with China in the 70s... under Clinton in the 90s it was a relationship that expanded considerably. Once China was admitted into the WTO then it was full speed ahead by the CCP to gain market share through mass production and take advantage of a naive world where countries thought of China as a peaceful nation. Just ask the people of Hong Kong and Tiawan what it means to be under the influence of the CCP rules for living. China will eat your lunch while pretending to be your friend... its called covert hostility. They steal or hack into our sensitive information and infiltrate our businesses and political and educational culture in ways that only a diabolical entity can.
Consider Fienstien ( California Senator ) had a Chinese chauffeur for many years until it was discovered he was a spy for China. China desires to rule the world with an iron fist that has been very successful at gaining a part of the world for periods of time in centuries past.

I don't buy anything from Harbor Freight anymore... why would I indirectly support the CCP? Americans buy the stuff they make, and yet, very little of what we manufacture is allowed to be imported for sale over in China. Our manufacturing base has been off shored to China for decades... the political powers that be have assisted greatly in seeing that happen.

The "wrong" that was righted came at the close of the Civil War in the 18th century. The slaves were freed from bondage on the state and federal level. That created a new problem... where does a freed slave go once his or her personal freedom is written into law? I heard that many slaves didn't leave the plantation once given the freedom to move about. They had no resources or property to inhabit. I am guessing they stayed and worked out an agreement with their former owners.

No need to guess what happened, it was called reconstruction and it worked very well. Reconstruction lasted 20 +/- years from around 1860 to 1880 I think. In many states like N.C. for example, Blacks outnumbered whites and almost all of the skilled labor was done by blacks. Blacks prospered in this time with many doctors, lawyers, and politicians. this led to the 14th amendment in 1868 which made Blacks full citizens. Reconstruction was essentially ended by violence against Blacks and Black communities by whites and groups like the KKK. Look up the Memphis and New Orleans riots (until the 60s,
riots meant whites killing and destroying the property of Blacks).

First of all, why the quote marks on the word wrong? You don't think slavery was truly wrong? Secondly, horrible racism, the segregated buses, bathrooms and drinking fountains, hiring practices...have all taken place much more recently than the end of the Civil War.

I find racism and slavery repulsive just like most sane and unbiased people. Changing the law by force ( Civil War ) is a much different objective as compared to how impossible it is to change the minds and behavior of millions of people.

Regardless, it’s a wrong and it is not those of us that weren’t the targets that can decide if it’s been righted. You called it “the remnants of racism” as if it lingered only because of slavery. That’s complete BS. The consequences of racism have not been righted by any means.
