billbell, that is exactly what i went through (well almost, it took me 6 years...) I couldn't make up my mind between an old favorite (the VFR) and my experience with my 99 Hayabusa. I sat myself down (probably just once..) and thought long and hard... there is just nothing like that 1999 Hayabusa, it was rock solid stable at speed, handled like a 600, and was just a blast to ride. The VFR was similar (to me at least) but it just didn't have that rock-solid stability; it was fun to ride (V4) but just not as much as the Bus was. If Honda made a 1300cc V4 VFR i may have tried that
As it is, this is the best production motorcycle on the planet, period, i'm still grinning ear to ear with her in my garage.
