Wow! With a Tobin seat, bar risers and footpegs I'll be in the same posture as my buddy on his V-Strom

Seriously, all of this is giving me hope. Anybody out there using a Tobin seat? Removing foam lowers the riding position, but is it comfortable after a day-long ride?
Did a 600 miler two weeks ago (in 1 day) with no problems with my Tobin. The secret is first getting comfortable and relaxed and just float with the bike on long distances. Don't try to turn the bike with your feet or legs (relax your legs as much as possible) and use counter steering to change directions. This is really easy on you if your on the interstate and have a throttlemeister or some other crusie control. You'll be amazed how much more comfortable the ride is and how much better you'll feel at the end. I learn this when I first started doing Long Distance Rallys (UHHHH from much much more experienced riders than I'll ever be) . Before that, I was completely exhausted at the end !

I'm glad to report that after riding several hundred miles with 1.5" GenMar risers that all of the wrist and back pain is gone.

Frisbee: what do you think of that Tobin seat now - worth doing to lower the seat and get more upright?

Genmar 1.5 Risers...
Suzuki OEM Gel seat...
Zero Gravity Double Bubble...
Vicodin...
And last, Oxycontin...
I can ride all day with now problems...

The Tobin is not more or less comfortable than the stock if you ask me You diffenetly can tell the diff in seat position. My legs are deffinetly closer I will be gettting the TRL pegs to install . But I would say yes on the Tobin for more upright seating. But if you have a 32" inseam you will want to lower your footpegs. And it looks great!

Changing the pegs (TL1000R) and adding Helibars have done wonders along with my Tobin seat. If you get a Tobin remember it lowers you about 1/2 inch, which inturn raises the bars 1/2 inch and RAISES the pegs 1/2 inch. What the pegs mean is that the TLR pegs lower you feet by 3/4 inch (which the Tobin makes the pegs only 1/4 inch lower than stock) and the Buells lower your pegs about 1 1/2 inches . But in the end, all the above has made the bike much more controlable and enjoyable to ride, since the Helibars raise the grips about 1 1/2 inch, with the Tobin it converts to 2 inches higher than stock

+1

I have all of the mentioned items. My wrists did hurt in the beginning but you get used to the position and you'll be fine.
