Bad Morning

This is one of the things that scares me! I can't imagine this happening mid corner when I'm pushing it in the twisties :banghead:
I'm very happy to hear it did not turn out worse Bob and that you were running at a reasonable pace when it let loose.

Sounds like you got her all fixed up and you should be off and running again

Glad to hear you are ok, sorry about the chain. On that note, what is the very very best chain for the busa that money can buy? I don't care if it is 500 bucks, is the stock chain a good one or is it known to be rather bad?

I have had real good luck with EK ZZZ chains !

Dang Bob, glad that is all that happened. Cant wait to see you in June bro. :beerchug::beerchug:

I thought about the time I was due for a new chain...
If the chain snaps, it'll prob spin forward and destroy the engine, spin back and lock up the rear wheel, or fly off sideways and gash your leg/foot... No wishful thinking there.

That could have been so much worse.

What a relief.

That would shake my confidence some.

Most of all, I'm glad you weren't hurt, yo.

I got it fixed shortly after and took it around the block to see if all was good. It's something that will stick in my head until I Grip It & Rip It again!

I was definately worried about all those things . We took it to storage & checked everything out ! Got off lucky!!! :please:

Glad it wasn't any worse for you. I have 10800 miles on mine and was wondering just how long will they last? I am not to rough on my bike but i do like the speed end of it. What would be the best chain to replace it with? Thanks in advance.

I have had good luck with EK ZZZ chains with no issues .
I will be putting on a EK ZZZ chain on my 08 next!

You are pretty lucky with nothing else being damaged when the chain let loose. A buddy of mine had the chain let go on him while we were cruising down the freeway at 75mph and it did almost 300 bucks in damage to his bike.

Since it broke AT the master link , don't blame the chain , blame the installer .
My stock 'Busa chain made it just past the 20k mark when it had surpassed the stretch between 20 pins spec. (never failed)
We all can read that the EK zzz is rated just above any chain for max load rating .
And for those running turbos , nos , ect. it is probably a prudent choice .
But for ANY mostly stock 'Busa , any properly installed 530 chain from any of the top 4 brands (EK , RK , DID , TSUBAKI ) should hold up for a LONG time as long as it is maintained properly .

Glad that ended as well as it did w/o damaging anything! Looking forward to riding with you again real soon bro!

As far as chains go, I ran my OEM chain for about 24,000 miles which was actually about 4000 more than I should. I replaced it with an EK ZZZ and have about 20,000 miles on it with very little stretch and it still looks and acts brand new. Well worth the $ in my opinion.

Yes your lucky and I'm happy all is OK.
Should you not replace that chain anyway asap ?
Seems like it may do same thing again as well for peace of mind.

Bro , My friend had a chain off of a 09 with less than 200 miles on it so he let me have it for mine.
I wasn't putting the old chain back on because I thought It might break again.
