Being poor sucks

Dont know who of yall remember, but I recently sold my bike shop. The bike industry around here has all but dried up. Only shops still open are dealers, or ones that have been here forever and have just enough work to keep the doors open, much less pay the owners bills.

Then to top that off I was laid off work 2 weeks ago. SO yeah its been tough for a few weeks.

here is where the poos part sucks. One of the other shops going out of buisiness here has 3 real nice choppers he is tryign to get rid if quick. I got a phone call from him today told me if I had 6500 he would let me take a 2004 Bourget home with me.. But nooooooooooooo not me, my broke ass cant afford it right now.. Man life can be so mean at times lol..

I'm heading to the gym, hopefully some workign out will make me feel better

Hang in there brother. Not sure what part of the country you are in, but economy is recessive in most places. Being part of the large group of "middle aged" folks here, Most of us have enough miles under our belts to sympathize with your situation.

The only thing I know for sure, is there are many with worse problems, (Cancer, etc.) Sounds like you are healthy, count your blessing there. Ask specifics and supply specifics about employment info in your area etc, there may be someone here that can help network you into employment. Hang in there Buddy

I feel for you, when I retired last year from the AF, I was out of work, supporting the family living w/ mom in law on the verge of homelessness. After I finally got a job making decent money it really opened my eyes to how much people complain about trivial crap at work. They could not be getting paid at all. Now I have a good job again but still poor, with a mortgage, 2 cars, busa, jetski, kids braces..yada yada...Man I think I was better off out of work if I think about it...nah.

Even the dealerships are feeling it. The only reason we are still sorta healthy is our size, but we are feeling it...

I have a new job starting next week. Pretty much done with EMS. my knees and shoulders are shot as a result of 15 years of it. Spent the last 4 in the helicopter, was not as bad on the body, but a very cramped work enviroment.

I was hired on by one of the local hospitals. Pretty much I will operate as a paramedic in the hospital setting. However I am enrolled in Pre Nursing at the local college, then into the RN program. Hope to be done by the time I am 35.

On the bright side, you saved yourself from riding one of Roger Bourget's rolling abortions!

Things will definitely turn out just fine for you.

Dont know if this is anything you might be willing to do or looking to do but ems nurse type jobs seem to be in real big demand here in ohio. Im not in that field but thats my understanding. hope it helps

EMS and nursing jobs are in high demand all over. Biggest problem with EMS is the pay. RN's make good money here. I have put my self in the best pay grade i can for my certs at the hospital. Work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. I get a extra dollar a hour for working 7p till 11p, a extra 2 dollars a hour for the 11p till 7a and a extra 2 dollars for the weekend shifts. I actualy make more perhour then I did working ems.

Oh and I would not have ridden the Bourget. It would have been put on a trailer and taken to Dayton, or Myrtle Beach and sold.

Sorry to hear things are tough right now...seems to all hit at once, doesn't it?

Great news on the job front though; keep working toward what you want and everything will fall back in to place.

Been through it several times. But in the end it'll work out and it will be better than before.
Keep the faith, it'll work out Brother.
