Yeah, I know - I actually tried to call you right after I got finished with my course to ask you a couple of questions about how mine was conducted.

What you got? Did you do the peanut on ex 9 ?

Only issue I had was on the figure 8...

I took it last year on my Busa....bout a week after buying it. It was definately a challenge, not to mention....the instructor told me that every Busa rider fails the first attempt.

After the course....he mentioned that I did pretty good and that he was a bit impressed with me. I was the first Busa that passed the first time around. Another Busa was there who was on his 3rd attempt.

Yeah...it gave me a big head.

U turn box, it's due to the long wheel base on the old girl. Use the drop in method instead of counter weighting

(busabiker69 @ Dec. 11 2006,10:00) Hey Gunnybusa, where do you teach?  I'd like to give the BRC a try.

See, that is what I was saying and he told me I would be counted off for not correctly positioning the bike...

He's a bonehead....thats how I did it too.

In addition......I know it sounds crazy....but I used 2nd gear. Yes it bogged down but it was much more manageable at very slow speeds. Not so torquey or choppy.

Then he wasnt an MSF instructor. The cards say nothing other then you will lose points in the U-turn box for puting a foot down or crossing the area bounded by the lines.

I use second gear as well when I demo it.

(MC MUSTANG @ Dec. 10 2006,05:58) There were three big Harleys, a Valkrie and me. The other guys and the instructor were laughing at me, but that didn't last long....
Why were they laughing? Because of the Busa?

Every now and then I find an empty parking lot and practice slow speed maneuvers. It helps a lot around town. +1 on 2nd gear; trying it in 1st can be masochistic!

I took the msf course along time ago, but not on sportsbike. I think I may take one around here this spring.

Good point, Ruben, about using the rear brake. It definately makes the bike more stable at slow speeds. The 2nd gear idea sounds good, too.

Good job, Shawn

great course! i took the msf advanced course a few years ago and had a tough time w/ the figure 8's myself. no shame in that, it's a learning experience. i had some trouble using the forward controls w/ 4 fingers instead of 2.
