Best aftermarket windshield for Gen 3?

Has anyone used the M1 profile before?
Was wondering if the low double bubble or the M1 would change the airflow enough to be beneficial over the stock, without adding the 1" of height.

Really want to see the full sized double bubble on the Gen 3.

Yes and no.
I have met and know both short and tall riders that love or hate them.
I'm 4" shorter than you and find them to blow my helmet around.
Unfortunately they are like seats, pegs, and bars, a real personal preference.
I would hate to say that any of them specifically would definately work for you, then you get it only to find out it does not.
thx for the info mate...I'll wait before buying one...let me see if anyone else here installs a touring screen and see it that might work for me.

strangely the zero gravity website doesn't give any information regarding what will work for a particular type of rider

I think it would be extremely hard for them to publish anything that would result in a lot of flack from the community. Riders torso length, neck length arm length vary wildly from person to person. So what fits one would not fit another so well.

One reason I love forums- the "im 6' 2', and this screen throws air at my chest and helps...." post is extremely helpful to me.

Just for the record, even with the double bubble I don't suffer a lot of wind stress. Maybe I am used to it. I have ridden Hayabusa's with touring screens and they're actually quite nice, but you may want to consider which direction you're pointing the bike if you're gonna leave it out in the sunshine.

The reason I get dark smoke is that it is rare that I'm running a land speed run with my face down in the windscreen. I do like the fact that it darkens up the displays and make them very clear to read daytime or night.

I guess if worse comes to worse you could drape a microfiber towel over your gauges for protection.
Thanks for the post.
Can you tell us if the double bubble provides BETTER wind protection than OEM screen?
Also is the TOURING even MUCH better, how does it look?
Thanks a lot.

The double bubble offers a moderate improvement in wind protection, plus you can get more of your helmet down behind the windscreen for aerodynamics, if that's what you're looking for.

I just like a little more height on the windscreen, I'm used to the wind force, I also like a dark screen because it lights up my gauges day or night. I sit a little taller, so that extra inch on the double bubble lets me see the gauges much clearer.

Now that being said, the touring wind screens are very impressive. Makes it very comfortable. The nice thing now, is that they offer much higher wind screens in the touring category, and that changes everything. The old touring windscreen was great, the taller ones could be much better.

Consider fatigue, on a long day, the stamina savings between an oem, and a touring windscreen are remarkable.

Look what came in Thursday,

The standard screen without the tint in a tuck, is the best option in my opinion. Clean air when up and good visibility in a tuck at high speeds.
I have to agree! I’m 6’3”. I’ve got the OEM touring screen It’s perfect when I tuck. But, I get some wind buffeting when sitting up.

The stock screen height is perfect, but I can’t tuck under it.

I just did my first 400 mile ride and the stock s reen seemed to provide very little protection. I'm 6'3" and a little bigger. I found that I was getting alot of body push from stock. It is a shame MRA hasn't developed their screen yet. I contacted them and they said they had no timeline. I'm probably going to try the tour from zero gravity. I was amazed at how much the bike was getting pushed.... alot different than the 14R. That being said I still love the gen 3.

The only option with OEM is touring check out the size chart on zero gravity a lot more options double bubble info is the way to go I ordered mine as well Lite Tint
Hey there. I’m 6’2 and am getting some HeliBars installed to help with the handlebars sitting so low. For the windshield, you mentioned the double bubble is the way to go? Would you still agree with that statement after ordering yours? I was thinking about getting one of the touring versions but I’m worried it will take away from the look of the bike too much. Does the Double Bubble help with the wind in comparison to the original shield? Thanks in advance for any feedback you can offer!

@Dmaasdorp777 - 6’3” guy here. The windscreen + my bar risers and drop pegs = awesome. I will recommend the double bubble screens all day.

Thinking about getting a gen 3. Had a double bubble on my gen 1. What took me a decade to figure out is that while the flow was perfect (I am 6'5"), as the screen flowed the air nicely around my shoulders but left my helmet in the stream, so no buffeting, over the years I kept getting bug impacts right on the tiny little one inch gap between my helmet and leather jacket. Including Hornets, one of which landed safely in the obliging airbag of my soft neck skin, dropped into the gap between my chest and jacket, and immediately started ramming away his stinger into my armpit. On a section of twisty road with no shoulder. With me whacking away at my armpit as hard as I could trying to kill the not-so-little fracker. I got to the side of the road but was not able to keep from dropping the bike. Finally got my jacket open and off he flew, apparently undamaged.

I am a skeptical agnostic atheist, but it's hard not to imagine the bug kingdom not sending their finest warrior to karmically avenge the deaths of so many of their kind over the years. Perhaps in particular coming down the west shoulder of Mount Rainier at sunset one afternoon where I am not so sure the number of mosquitoes I had to repeatedly wipe from my visor didn't number in the thousands.

TLDR: if you have a smooth set up where only your helmet is in the wind, you may want to plug / protect the bug gap between your helmet and jacket just below your Adam's apple...

If Yanna Shiki makes a windscreen for the Gen3 don't get that one. Cheap but sucks and will go straight in the trashcan.
