I agree, I think it's a little arrogant to run the #1, especially since it's only for a year. If he gets 6 like Mladin, then run it.

Awesome pics of Nicky!!! You guys are right about being familiar with his "69" plate--I mean, that's his number--but he really deserves the No. 1 plate, after the season that he ran.

I like the tradition of running the #1 plate, I wish Rossi had run it these last 5 years.

But

All my Hayden t-shirts have the 69 #, so now my shirts are out of date...

We'll agree that Rossi is the best rider,

BUT

to be world champion takes more than that.

Namely, you need to be on the best are near best equipment.

Rossi's Yami broke twice(1 of which was going to be a race win) and there are hints that Rossi's lowside at Valencia was a traction control malfunction since the rear broke loose before the front.

Rossi choose Yami, and now he's #2.

I just hope that this season has put the drive back into Vale. I didn't see the enthusiasm in him like he usually has. It's kind of refreshing to see a guy acting goofey out there with all the serious/egotistical GP riders. In a way, it's good that he was beaten, and if it was by an American, then even sweeter. I am anxiously awaiting next season. I think Loris and Vale will have an all time higher level with the way the 06 season panned out.
