Best site for "legal" Mp3 downloads??

Not Since 2007, itunes has all their content at .99 cents a song now, they are 256kbps AAC encoded, and DRM-Free.

You can rip at whatever data rate you like.

Besides, all 8 Zunes in the hands of consumers hasn't really made itself a standard.

I wasn't talking about just the music. The player hardware is built with much better internal components. The sound from the same bitrate on the same speakers, and the Zune sounds more crisp and clean.

And FWIW. Theft is theft. Might as well be boosting Motorcycle parts, or pocketing cigarettes at 7-11. Theft is theft, there's no honor, no dignity, no imagined Robin Hood type stealing from the rich sorta BS. It's just theft, plain and simple.

I agree, theft is theft. but who is stealing? P2P network "share" their data. its not like we are taking it without asking. This is the way i look at it:

If someone asks me to borrow a movie so they can watch it, and i say ok, that is not stealing. thats borrowing. they may copy it and give it back. that is still not stealing. because they asked and returned what what rightfully mine. P2P is the same thing just on a wider scale(waaaayyy wider). you share out your data and people copy it. no one is hacking into your computer and stealing it( well the normal people arent anyway). you cant really compare data to physical goods like bikes and such.

if the argument is "we are stealing from the artists/directors", then yeah, you are right. but it has always been that way, anytime you borrow a movie, cd, tape, 8 track, record, wierdo with a trumpet, you are taking "would be" revenue from those who would benefit. or would they benefit? if someone asks to borrow a movie, they dont want to pay for it, or they want to preview it. if the movie cannot be borrowed, the person just does without. at least that is what i have seen growing up.

im not meaning to argue, i just wanted to voice my opinion. i also do not like to be classified with people who actually steal. as in taking from someone without asking. just as someone who gets caught pissing behind a tree can be put in the same category as a serial rapist.

just my .02

they may copy it and give it back.

That is piracy if the movie has a copywrite. Buying a copy of music or a movie is NOT buying the rights to redistribute that material. You may loan it out, or even make a copy for your own backup. You can not make additional copies to give to other people, nor can other people make copies of your music or movies according to the law.

you share out your data and people copy it

You may legally share data and information if YOU hold the original copywrite license. If you did not explicitly get written rights to redistribute media from the author you are committing a felony.

i also do not like to be classified with people who actually steal

Then don't participate in such activities.

i didnt really figure in the copyrights.....guess i need to reevaulate

i dont have enough room on my hard drive for my 300+cd's not to mention the 5000+ songs i already have on there.... ohhh always look for bit rates...126-190 on average is the safe stuff and nothing 900kb or less...dem da virus's
I have 26,000 songs on an 80 gig drive

i use rhapsody and it seems most of the stuff i want is there. you'll always have bands or songs you cant get w/o buying the cd, but they are pretty good for the 10 bucks a month i spend:thumbsup:

Polish it up however you like or however makes you feel justified... Smells like a Duck, looks like a duck, sounds like a duck...

It's my opinion, not yours. You can be as pro-Apple as you want. It won't change what I think about the Zune. And yes, I have a MacBook so I don't hate Apple. I just think you can get a better product without buying into the Mac status symbol.

I don't mind, cause your opinion doesn't matter. :poke:

We all bend the rules sometimes. Personally I don't dl music or buy it. Radio is enough background noise for me. Justifying illegal p2p is like trying to pick up a turd from the clean end. If I dl a pc game and I like it I go to the store and buy it. If a dl a program and like it I purchase the program. I guess I prefer things on my terms. I have come across a lot of pc software that I thought sucked after getting the full version. Ever try to get your money back from a software vendor ? Bad experiences have formed my opinion about this.

I've used Rhapsody and liked it. Stay away from Limeware (major trojans).
