Best tires?

no ones mentioned shinko...... surprised.

i put 1500 miles on mine on the 600 and no noticeable wear...then again, never had it in the rain either....

i used to get around 3k on the bridgestone bt56's.
got tired of changing the back. if i did a lot of fwy riding, i could kill a back tire in 6 weeks.
got a dunlop roadsmart rear now. i have almost 3k on it, and it looks almost new!
it will break loose on older, slicker streets though. gotta be real careful in the wet. wheelies just fine:thumbsup:

You still in Galveztraz:rofl: How did you make out in IKE?

Everyone does seem to have a favorite. Seems like that is the case with almost everyone thing. No clear cut winners.

As far as tire, I am looking for something that has excellent traction capability in braking and cornering. Not necessary a hard, long life tire.

Seems to be whatever tire is currently on a man's bike is the best

I've been on lots of different hoops and I've found the Dunlop Qualifier is a hard street tire to beat for all around performance. Take a look at GregBob's posts with photos of his busa on it's lips. He finally gave up his beloved Pilot Powers for Qualifiers and fell in love!

Michelin Pilot Powers are the shiz. I recently switched to the Pilot Road 2 and they aint too bad either

Amen my brother! Have only had experience with the stockers and the Michelin Pilot Powers and it's like night and day. Thought I was going to cream myself when I first rode away on the Pilots...LOVE THEM! Almost feels glued to the road, and smooth as hell. They seem to get good wear too - had them put on last year and they've still got a lot of tread left after 3-4K miles.

3 choices for me as of now,Pirelli diablo corsa 3,rosso and Michelin pilot power 2 CT.I prefer that extra grip and confidence during high speed cornering and so on:whistle:

I have used the Pirelli Diablo Corsas, Michellin Pilot Power, Pilot Power 2CT and now I'm thinking of getting the Pilot Road 2. Everyone will have their opinion you just have to find what you like. I prefer to pay $400 for a set of tires than pay $3,000 on repairs for a wrecked bike... Not only that but a good set of tires will give you more confidence and less worry on the twisties...
