Yes it’s an inverse relationship but not constant. That was the point I was making. If you’re talking about inflation, use that chart.

Yes, it's like the price of a good suit, belt and shoes. It's still around one ounce, and records they unearthed from the Roman Empire 2000 years ago revealed that a new toga, belt and sandals cost them an ounce of Gold too. There are a lot of things about Gold that you don't realize until you begin to buy it. Until that point it's just an academic exercise.
