... have you ever seen such a HUGE filter?

Nice!

Guess You'll be takin it easy on the left turns now! Does that filter cross reference to the turbine intake filter on a 757?
biggrin.gif
Looks Sharp...hope to see ya on the roads with it soon. I think I'll be able to spot ya!

Thanks for the compliment.

Some kits locate the turbine more to the right and are able to hide a small filter under the bodywork.
Some people run screens or very small filters also (potentially dangerous to the system... lack of air & excess debris).

The Velocity kits (like the one I have) do not do this.
With a few exceptions, all the Velocity kits have the filter petruding through the body work.

However, two things:
1) Typically, the Stage 2 Systems use a larger filter than the Stage 1 Systems (I have a Stage 2)
2) The flange on my turbine was extended about 2 inches... thus further exaggerating the filter.

I want to modify the flange to remove the extention and explore options for the filter.

I do NOT like how it sticks out and it drastically impares the bikes abilty to manuever to the left.

Cool, I think you sould do somthing about that filter though. You got a turbo busa-I don't you win

Have fun

Very nice Cecil. I imagine the filter comes very close to scraping the floor when you lean.

HOLY FILTER BATMAN!

That thing is huge!

It looks horrible!

I have a stock 04 LE. I'll gladly trade you, at no additional cost to you. That way you can get rid of that ugly air filter and bike and you can have a beautiful new 04 LE! (Yeah I know then I'd be laughed at for driving that big air filter around, but I'll take one for the team.)

Hehe, it isn't so bad. It does kina draw attention to itself though... but function is better than form. But if you could do something to make it blend in more without affecting it's function, I'd say do it. If it would affect it's function, it is not worth it. Just look at it as a conversation piece and proof that nothing on the road can catch you!

Well since it can't turn left anymore, you'll feel better about extending the swingarm and maybe you'll feel more justified in buying a new liter bike. That filter seems to help in a lot of areas
biggrin.gif

unless looks mean a lot to you I think the bike is bad a$$. Those passer byes that think the filter sticking out of the fairing seems odd just have no clue of what lurks inside. And for those passer byes that know what the filter sticking out represents better bow down and make way.

Beautiful.

For all of the filter detractors, just put a faux filter on the right side and tell people they are extra sturdy frame sliders.

Cecil,

So what's it DYNO at?
rock.gif

Taken it to the track or anything yet?

Come on, we need more info on how it performs!
wink.gif

Have fun and be safe! Those TURBO power wheelies can be addictive!

Hey Cecil, bike looks bad a$$$$$$ dude...
bowdown.gif
The protruding air filter is a DEAD GEVEAWAY for what's under the hood, or in this case, behind the fairing
biggrin.gif
You've basically got a straight-line bike now unless you want to make sharp right turns all the time and go around in circles all day...

I'm looking at going turbo later this year myself and will definitely weigh the advantages of having the smaller air filter. Really doesn't matter because I will use it primarily for the track and look into purchasing a second Busa to just do the normal wear and tear with. I'm also looking at maybe an '05 Gixxer 1000. It will either be that or the '05 SE which is that sweet-a$$ gunmetal gray. The second bike will be strictly bolt-ons and some bling here and there...

Cecil, do you plan on stretching it any?
rock.gif
Just curious. My plan is for a 4" stretch once the turbo is installed.

Not trying to shiiite on ya Cecil, but have you ever considered some clear turn signals for the front?
rock.gif
Just saying that because the amber lens kinda takes away from the sweetness of your bike in my opinion. Never really payed much attention to it until I started looking at your new look with the turbo. And believe me... I'VE BEEN LOOKIN'!!
biggrin.gif
I'm kinda like stalkin' your bike.
