BIG SMILE

NumbNuts, I know, it wasn't taken as an insult or anything, just wanted to make sure that TR knew I wasn't insulting too and that he got some idea about what PAIR was.

As for your suggestions ... can go along with that for the most part ... was surprised about that NWS hugger ... is it a separate part that fits to underside of swinger ... seems about time someone thought of that ... those 2 OEM rubber flaps really protect the top of the shock rather well IMHO but that linkage down below is another story entirely!

No-ones getting insulted here fella's. You've both been more than helpful and I can see a "strip down the busa " session comin on.
Right , Ive done the number plate and mudguard conversion, fitting stainless brake hoses and some better pads very soon.
Dunno 'bout the tank bag n hugger though :O))
Numbnuts. Whats the crack with the Dunlop, more grip or more miles?? Im ready for a tyre and am "doing" Scotland 2 up in july, so I could use a good mileage tyre. Dont fancy the macaddam much, had them sliding about on a blade so what the hell will they do on this mutha ?? TTS yup heard lots of good stuff about the guys there from my streetfighter days........ooooohh! feel a headache comin on thinking about those days..

Sadley Im in manchester and its not exactly local unfortunately
Thanx again, Off to the garage now armed with information....gulp :O))

NumbNuts,

Yeah, piccy would be great, seems like next practical thing for my Busa that might even also improve looks.

Animal
Crossed wires. Okay

Right. Hugger is an all in one bit, hard to explain really, I can E mail a piccy if you are interested. At the front, the fibre glass (or carbon) goes right down, from top of wheel like little fender, behind wheel, down and stops about 4 inches below swingarm. Has integral chain guard, comes with all fixing brackets, tidies the rear of the bike up a treat. Looks good in black gloss.

Re: the extra add-on bit, there is a "crap-flap" available for R6 & R1 which just bolts to the underside of the swing arm, is this what you mean?? This stops the crap hitting the lower linkages.

207, so far I have got 3600miles from it, about another 500 I should think until getting past TWI's. Heaps of grip, stock ones are pooh. Went in under 2500. I take pillion for the main and tyre still performs excellent (IMHO!!).

the tank harness, is a must. My paint work started getting marked up on tank after just 100 miles. Something to do with the paint is not allowed to have certain chemicals in it nowadays so to harden off properly it needs UV rays (so I'm told) If your bike has come from factory, storage, showroom, this won't have happened. IS THIS TRUE??
Perhaps JohnnyCheese can help with this??

Anyway
Hope this helps

Thanks NumbNuts, you've got a reply.

As to PAIR and Euro-c(r)ats being "connected"?

NO!

These are 2 completely separate things and the PAIR is on EVERY Busa worldwide!

Only way in which they are "connected" is in their goal to reduce emissions.

Ratty
what is it with you guys??
we got Pooh, Ratty all we need now is Toad and we got ourselves a kiddies book!!!!
Yep, the tank is the cause and I love it!

I got the 207 on back and BT on front. No trouble at all. 3rd rear, orig. front. Think the front will last 1 more rear. 7800 miles, D207 doing 3800 and still some.
BT56's doing 2500 MAX.

Power commander seems the way to go, I'm humming and haring about either that or a yellow box. I see it that they will both save me money in the long run, (yellow box through increased serviceing intervals, pcII through better mapping = better fuel economy and less stress on engine bits) YB is £50 ish, PCII is £300 ish
which one??????

Numb nuts (is that cause you sit too near the tank :O)) )
Thanx for the info on the tyres. I have a bt56 on at the mo0ment with around 1300 miles on it and its dowm to the TWI's already so a 207 seems the way to go . BUT, I still have another rear tyre's worth left on the front (if you know what I mean ). Not wise to mix them ...is it ??
Im also going to have to have the mapping looked at again or even go down the power commander route. We will see.......more dosh eh ??
HAvent attempted the PAIR thing yet.....no bottle these Rats you know.hehehe
CYA GUYS

I would speculate with the £50 YB first , then its no big deal if your disapointed with it. If you chuck £300 at the other option youll be right P.O ed if its all a lemon....
I hear from the guy who did my remap that the pc is a little delecate for leaving onboard though I suppose "he would say that wouldnt he :O)).
I like the idea of the kiddies book ....do you think its got much mileage hehehe.

"lantabusa, Ive desided to leave well alone for a while regards the PAIR's thing. I got a Scotland trip coming up and I dont want to mess it up so close to it. But when we get back ...I'll have a go.
Some one tell me about a sports style rack for the rear of the busa. Does anyone have one and where from ect

Don't know what it actually looks like and if that's what you're looking for but I recently found out that German Hepco&Becker also make a supposedly reasonably looking top rack that can also be used to fit one of their many different top-cases on.
Hepco&Becker is in my honest opinion the world's top manufacturer of racks and hardbags for almost every motorcycle and unsurpassed for quality and sturdiness.
The top rack will very probably mount instead of the grab-rail and will be available in black powdercoat for sure.
Don't know if it's sold in the UK or by whom though.

Ratty

There is a sports style rack available, no boxes its by whats their name *thinking V.hard*
5 mins
10mins
VENTURA thats it. Ad in most m/c mags.
It screws on where the blobs are at the back (cargo blobs, you know, prise out black cap on end & unscrew) and the rack fits in the right angle tube ends provided. Don't look too bad, but after trip I would remove. Only 4 bolts so not too bad.

I have a 3 box GIVI setup that I had on my ZZR600. I am going to make a top rack fit where the grap rail is so at least I have 1 box. We went touring last week, missus had rucksack on, nearly broke her back poor ole' thing!! Shame the GIVI wingrackII won't fit the Bus. Arse is too wide!!.

Hope this helps

PS Didnt get any luck with that URL on motorheads site that "lantabusa" sent me ???
I'll have a look round the site and see what I can come up with..

Well guys I went back to have the busa remapped again.....after 7 settings and awsome patients from the tuner, we got a result. Dont ask what settings though I aint a clue.
10 out of 10 to SYMTEK in Birmingham. If only for the amount of time he spent with me on it....

Tarmac

What were the symptoms?
What did they use to correct, Yosh??

what made you choose this over a PCII?

Just a few pertinant qus, as I'm seriously thinking about the PCII, (at £230)

GLAD TO HEAR ITS WORKING OKAY

nUTS (PISSED AS A FART!)THIS TYPING IS FUN!!!

Symtoms....rough just getting back on the gas . Riding like a twat it was fine....(fast I mean) but with the love of my life on the back and trying to be sensible it had stummbles. SYMTEC sorted it with a Yosh. The reason I didnt go for the pc2? £230- to be honest and the thought of messin up me bike and loosing my temper and throwing all my toys out of the pram...etc. An added bonus was that it has reduced dramaticaly the popping and backfires as well to a level I can live with. It sounds like a works bike now on the overun...if you know wot i mean.
Stranglly enough Im o the champers as I write this so the spelling might not be to good....**hic** not that I usually drink the stuff .............................:O))
