we are all with you and thinking about you.

Rod suffered the stroke while he was at his parent's house. He was waiting for them to come home, and he had started to write them a note before he left. According to his sister, the writing trailed off, which is when they think he had the stroke. He was unconscious for around 2-hours before they found him.

Rod is now conscious, but unable to speak. Although the outlook was originally grim, he is now able to recognize people (he was able to recognize his parents and his wife) and he was able to move his right foot (which is the side they believed to be partially paralyzed). He does have a blood clot in his brain, and they believe may be caused by an irregular heartbeat. They will try medication to eliminate the clot. If that doesn't work they will attempt to elevate his blood pressure - which is risky. And of that doesn't work he will need surgery.

He's still in Intensive Care, so only immediate family can see him. And for those who are curious, Rod is 38 years old, in great physical shape, and has never been sick.

I gave Trudy our well wishes and prayers for Rod and his family.
