04 stock everything had valves done and ever since then if I jump down two gears and really get on the gas, my bike dies. electric is still going and if I come up to fifth and pop the clutch it restarts? sound like anything any of you all have heard of?? Oh yeah, have a TRE on it.

Thanks,
~Damian

Check your idle rpm maybe be to low...Should be about 1200 rpm but I like mine a little fast...

Idle needs to be 1200-1300

Okay, i've adjusted my idle back up. Got my usual 33 mile ride to school this afternoon...I'll open MR BUSA up and see how it goes. Report to follow. Thanks y'all.

okay, ran it with the idle re-adjusted. still had the bike die on me. i decided to kick up on the side-stand and the bike restarted after i did that. i read a little about guys having problems with the side stand kill switch??? Can I just put a jumper on it like the clutch kill switch. this is starting to get me down...had to let an R1 pass me on the highway cause MR BUSA needed to take a nap or something...HELP!!!!

Thanks a lot you all. What good is this site if you're not willing to help those of us with less knowledge than yourselves? I'm sure that someone on here knows what I'm going through here and just hasn't deemed it worthy of their sharing their experience or "how to" with me. Great help.

I have an 04 and have not had that problem. If it was me I would jump the switch and try it, if that fixed it then get another switch and go get the R1. I would not leave the switch bypassed. If you find out that is what is causing the problem fix it.

Contact cleaner works wonders. Spray the kickstand switch and area and let it dry. See if this works. That area gets real nasty from chain lube and road grime. You can jump it like the clutch switch. Mine is jumped and I have no problems with it. Hope this helps some.....Dave

before you go blaming anyone, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR ASKING FOR HELP, you should try posting this in the proper forum. this is the maintenance forum.

Look, I'm new. not blaming anyone. just frustrated with having a BEAUTIFUL BIKE that isn't running as well as I know it can. If I put this in the wrong place it's because I'm new and didn't know better.
I'm greatful for the ideas posted and will try them all.

that's the smartest simplest idea....thank you.

PROBLEM SOLVED...THANKS and SORRY for being short with you. Y'all are not gonna believe what the problem was....it took me riding a stretch of highway over and over and over...damn bike kept dying. So while sitting on it in neutral, i bent over and pulled up on the kickstand and it came up...way too much...turns out the little bend in the metal that pushes in the button that closes the circuit on the sidestand kill switch had some how gotten bent forward...so was not pushing in on the button far enough.

whewwww...got out my handy leatherman and bent that sucker to where it's supposed to be and bam...problem solved. Came home pulled two links off a new chain and slapped it on...added some ferodo pads for the rear and MR BUSA is like a born again virgin..all tight and ready for action!!! Watch out mr R1 on the H3...I'm coming for ya...

stop slowing down.. duh!
