The way I read it, the *PINK* hue of the red SE makes it light "in it's loafers". Maybe you misunderstood them to mean that it had something to do with gravity.

The paint as actually made out of a Polymer / Kevlar / Teflon mixture with special reflective flakes mixed in with the paint.

he paint is durable and when treated right is slicker and smoother than other paints. what this has caused is a paint system that is lighter than other paints decreasing bike weight by a few pounds. Also because of the smoother texture of the paint than others it actually cuts through winds at the higher speeds. As some of the people that road with me on 25, people were hitting their limiters and could not catch up. I never once hit my limiter, and I am pretty much stock, no TRE.

And the reflective specs in the paint I found out are something new Suzuki is playing with, it is not standard "metal flake" it is some kind of material that is reflective, what this does is when a radar system with a laser is pointed at it and fired, the closely packed reflected specs cause a cross camber dispersant of the radiation produced by the laser, most of the actual beam is dispersed, and the part that is actually reflected back causes havoc because as everyone knows, mirrors and reflective surfaces bounce light beams, lasers are nothing more than beams of light, when one laser beam hits multiple specs of reflective surfaces that are placed at different angles and small distances it reflects the same beam back in separate segments in dispersed intervals, so when the radar gun is expecting one signal back, it actually receives 50 or more signals back within milliseconds of each other which causes the radar gun to basically malfunction and ignore the signal burst.

So the paint scheme on the Orange 40 Special is actually lighter, more slip stream responsive and is actually as more stealth characteristics than other paint schemes.

I have been really happy with it..

Amazing, but I also heard that they further developed the same technology in the 2004 models. Of course the black ones have the natural advantage, just because they are black. (which everyone knows is the fastest color)

This was a fun thread but I can not beleave that Thrasher leeked all that "Top Secret" information about our Speed Pumkins. I just for the record want to say that I know nothing about the secret properties of the 40th paint and have no idea why it's faster than all others.
