Bike still starts....

I have a 2006 and my bike still starts with the kickstand in the down position.
Has anyone seen this before? I did change out with a billet adjustable, but it is only the arm that was replaced. The little kill switch button/wires were never touched at all.

WTF??

Get someone to hold the bike up (or put it on a stand) and check that the new kickstand touches/operates the kill switch button when you put it down/up. Could be the switch is sticking/seized.

As long as the tranny is in Neutral - the bike will start with the kickstand down.

Put it in gear - it should not start with the kickstand down.

I have a 2005 and it will not start in neutral until the clutch is pulled in. After it starts you can let the clutch lever out and it will run. If you put it in gear, even with the clutch pulled in, it will die with the kickstand down.

Same here... and I have an 06.

Brendan, didn't you put the bike in gear with the stand down and the bike stayed running?
