THIEF

Jan 22nd I had a run in with some burglars and I am glad to say I am still here. They saw me driving my kuxury SUV and I was worried about them finding the busa as well. It is some pretty good reading. The response by ny neighbors has been wonderful, the tons of praise and well wishes has helped make it alot easier to get through this tough time.[/QUOTE]

Ron - I'm glad you're okay and I salute your actions. The "perps" obviously ran into the wrong man and suffered the consequences of their felonious deeds.

When I lived in a Ft. Myers apartment, I had my bike chained to a tree just outside my bed room window. I slept with the screened window open so I could hear well. One night I woke up to chain rattling sounds. I grabbed my pistol and quietly stepped outside in my shorts to see what was happening. A white adult male in his early twenties was stooped over messing with my chain lock with a screw driver which compelled me to jack a round into the chamber of my Colt. That unmistakable sound of a .45 ACP being chambered a few feet away in the quiet of night got his complete attention for a second or two before he bolted into his best sprint. I had him "dead to rights" and intended to hold him for the police but he wasn't stupid enough to threaten me personally and obviously I couldn't shoot him in the back so he got away. For that brief moment when he looked me in the eyes, his face radiated total terror. I'll bet my Busa title that he'll never forget how close he came to his final mistake! I have little compassion for violent criminals who prey upon others and I will continue to carry concealed legally, as I have done for the last 14 years. Only in America...

Dude, I regret you weren't a better shot! My hat is off to you. I am sorry someone died but I would have done the exact same thing. No question! Kids never think about the possible consiquencies of their actions?
Dang a better shot? 4 perps (2 in the vicinity)five shots fired and hit both perps, the one that died was hit twice in the chest less than an inch apart, the second caught one to his collar bone. what the paper failed to mention was the second one threw a golf bag full of clubs on my head so my view was more than a little obstructed. So I dont think i am too bad of a shot ;) thank you for the well wishes. It is something I never thought I would have to experience but I am glad when I needed it I had brought one of my pistols with me. By the way I ALWAYS have one in the chamber, one of ther posts said something about chambering their 45, in this case I would have been dead if I had to chamber a round, as soon as they saw the gun I was firing.
