BK Suspension settings

My riding style is a bit on the aggressive side. Is there something to be done to improve the BK handling? It tends to shake its head when it comes out a corner at very high speeds.

I think the suspension is a little soft for my weight and riding style but I've never thought the front end was "squirlly". I will say that when I first started riding my B-king and was powering out of corners my back end let loose a little and would skitch to the side a bit. This was very disconcerting and put that "oh Sh*t" shiver up my back but it was me over jacking the throttle coming out of curves before coming back to vertical. I've never had the impression that the B King had any disposition for front end shaking, wobble or bad behavior in general. I did not weigh in earlier on this post because I've just not experienced this problem, however it looks as if a fair number of folks have looked at this but haven't posted about similar expiriences. Maybe - I would check the steering damper or perhaps the front tire isn't up to spec or something up front is loose. Just a thought...

One other thought - I posted this earlier. It took me a while to ride this bike efficiently as the wide handle bars and seating position lends itself to making a strong arm triangle that naturally has one hand steering input fighting the other. Sport bikes tend to keep yours arms slightly bent and more neutral. I found that once I made a concerted effort to relax the outside turn arm the motorcycle setup better (rock solid) in corners. This bike is neither standard nor sport and took me awile to figure out the best way to maximize the bikes potential.

So to recap make sure you are not inducing the front end sloppiness by fighting your own steering inputs... Just another thought.

This post may be clear as mud I don't know, but I do know making a concerted effort to slightly change my riding style made all the difference with this bike.

Well since you asked about suspension settings I will give you my input. If you havent yet adjusted them you should. First off set the back sag. Then set the front end, it is way too soft, try cranking the preload up all the way. Also the back end has way too much compression damping in it, try backing it off till it feels comfy. You may find you have an instant new motorcycle.

I have got 1500 miles on my King now, was following a fast sports bike on the road yesterday, I got right behind him at the end of a straight, then came up to a roundabout, it was a quick flick right then left, I was leaning over for the left, but same as you, I opened the throttle a bit to soon, and the back end slid to the right, it gave me a bit of a scare, but afterwards thinking about it was worse, I had thoughts that I could have been highsided, I have given myself a mental note, dont whack the throttle open unless I am upright, but apart from that I find it a very stable bike, and very good in the twisties.
