yes it is a must for long turbo life if you drag race it. the blow off valve will release the air being compressed into your plenum which when the throttle is slammed shut at the end of the strip. if it is not released it will back up into the turbo and can damage the compressor blades and the throttle blades. on my bike the boost kept the blades open to where i had to kill the motor. get a bov. it saves parts, improves performance and sounds cool as hell.
