Just wondering about your experiences with the street and race BMC filters. My bikes stock except for a TRE. I don't wanna hurt the driveability but I will prolly modify the exhaust ect down the road and don't wanna have to buy another filter. Will the race filter run on a stock Busa without probs? thanks

race flows more than norace std is the same as stock but washable. and due to you are really running rich with the tre I would run none

Says it all. Worry about ove 186mph (tre) afte you have done it a few times. You don't need the TRE. Yhea Yhea if you think it smooths out the bottom fine, you have to ride it.

you have a good point JC, but if all cars/motorcycles have filters, it must be because someone made a study and found out that toasts in your engine is not good. It must increase the amount of carbon deposit over a long period of time.
Just trying to understand

they have filters for CYA. about the only time I did use one on any bike was when I lived in Vegas, and then I used a pantyhose over that

Race flows more than street. Street flows the same as stock but washable. Since you use a TRE(which runs the bike rich), he recommends you use no air filter.

I think.....
its hard to read that....

bugs burn so does small partical of dirt. I pulled down my 1397 after a year of running slod it and the buyer could not beleive it was ran the bore and pistons looked new except fot the carbon on top of pistons. and yes we have BIG BUGS here

but, would the carbon deposit be less if you had a filter?
carbon is the fuel not dirt.
I just did a 1397 that was over 4 years old no filter but the valves springs took a dump and it floated a valve. piston and bore fine even reused the rings did not clean the pistons and it went 156 on motor in the 1/4.
Unless you are in sand like Vegas or AZ. any motor can run no filter. even my 198,000 mile ford escort with OEM clutch does not have one. would I recommend it to my customers NO because CYA. Thank you all you nice Lawyers

my bad, Cheese....I didn't mean it like that.

I just meant to ask if there were any noticebale performance gains by not running a filter.
