Aaah. I see.

Performance gain it is, then. So it's just a matter of tuning. PC needed, I assume. So for a stock 99, will the map needed for no filter be a biznotch to dial in?

I only ask b/c where I'm from, there ain't a tuner for shid. Perhaps I can look you up for a needed map?

find an old Air filter and just gut it and use the lid and try it with the set up you have now

I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my 99. I'll gut the filter as suggested and see how it runs.
