BMW K1200S

sounds like good hp on paper but i think they are rating it from the engine and not the tire . ill bet it is far from a "BUSABEATER"

I read a review recently that categorically stated the K1200 wouldn't outrun any of the latest superbikes. However, it's nice to see BMW finally experimenting in that arena instead of touring bikes. Still way too expensive though....

Still short on power and torque compared to the Busa and by the time you run that through the shaft drive it won't even be competition for a Blackbird.

i remember a bunch of hype circulating a while back about BMW coming out with a "BUSA BEATER" if this is the BUSA BEATER it is pretty funny

No worry's--we still ride the quickest and fastest--but only [barely] I don't really care--if something came up abit quicker---Busa's one sweet ride---and can you say [mod's] if needed..it's all good.

I don't like the look (Busa much sexier), and it is no serious threat to Japanese bikes, but I'd still love to ride one. I've loved the feel and personality of the other Beemers I've ridden, and I'll bet this one would be no exception. Maybe they'll have one in the BMW tent I can demo ride at Bike Week? I can hope...

i'll bet that its a very nice ride and pretty fast. 167hp is a 167hp. i should get my dad to trade up his k1200LT for that.

Beemers are very refined and a nice bike, lots of inovations handling and creature comforts on all their bikes are very nice, but "come on" a busa killer I dont think so, besides the price, just compare the looks ...

I dunno, to be honest I will be trying on the K1200S when it arrives...  If it's comfy and "Feels" right?  I'm all over it.

Bonus of having a wife with an actual career....  she pays the bills so I can contemplate new toys...

I do like the yellow/black version, for some reason that color scheme fits the bike. The other colors bring out the ugliness, espeically the white/blue.

If any manufacturer is going to take the king title away from the Busa it's going to be Kawasaki or Honda...not a bike that shares a garage with a powder blue Lincon Town car in a retirement subdivision in Florida.

I wonder why Yamaha is missing the hyperbike boat?

Different strokes--for----I like the way the Busa looks...Remember John Burns--some one said our bike may look like a pregnant [Manity] sic.--prolly--but thats ok--Best thing is telling someone i have a Hayabusa--and they say what is that....GREAT stuff.

Just remember, BMW talks about the new K being alot of things....  But it's the press that brings up "Busa Beater" and junk like that...  Hype to sell magazines...

The new 1200 is going to be fast...  Blackbird fast anyway, and in reality 90% of the time out in the world there isn't going to be enough of difference to become obvious on the street...   It's not like a Busa ridden at a street pace is going to be leaving the K1200S for dead at every turn...

Or every straight away for that matter.

Turbo-T...  I was thinking the same thing regarding colors, but it's the Blue N White that I love... It reminds me of the old BMW M-1's Dunno why exactly. I also dig black frames... Go figure...
