Boots?

i'm finally going to pony up some dough and get some boots. i'm just twisted in the choices. sfaety and protection is truly my #1 concern, but overkill isn't. BUT, can there really be overkill in safety? i've been looking at both the Sidi Vortice & Corsa's ('09 & '08 models respectively) and i'm just not sure if it's overkill for an average rider. i'm not a knee dragger, but i do push it once in awhile. i do have the "need for speed" poison so i boogie ....... alot. thoughts, opinions and input are appreciated and respected

Is it worth $300 bucks to you to be able to walk?

Ever talk to a rider who has had a foot mangled?

My helmet was my first purchase, my sidi's were the second.

I just tried on a pair of Dainese Torque boots at cycle gear and LOVE the entry on them, easiest boot to put on I have tried yet.. Not enough change to purchase yet but I like the simple clean look of them and the brand name goes a long ways with me... There is a single zipper at the very back that goes clear down to the heal and the boot folds open.. what a joy to put on..

Dainese - D|Store online

$299 at CG

Sidi or Falco. Sidi is a great boot, as are Falco. Falco is less expensive and more comfortable out of the box.

I know.....thats kinda why i was leaning toward the Sidi's. but i was thinking like the corsa'a, which are $425. watching the video is what initially got me fired up about them, but good point. and after-all, thats what the sidi's were designed for and i do enjoy the ability of being able to walk.

Sidi's are what I wear, very comfortable and they offer great protection.

Go with the Sidi's or Alpinestar SMX Boots both offer great protection. I wear a pair Oxstars that are not bad as far as comfort goes but they do not offer the protection that the other 2 do

Vertigo's....

Absolutely go to a local Cycle Gear or whatever and try on several different brands and sizes. I found that sizes and comfort levels vary greatly between brands. I ended up with some Alpine Stars, but cheap none of them are.

I wear the Sidi Vertogo's. The only pair I could find in my HUGE size. I love them. Could be just a little bigger, but they are very nice and worth the pennies.

I got the Sidi B2 boots a couple months ago. Love 'em. However, had I know how great they are and how much I now use them, I probably would have gotten the Vertigo or the Vertigo or the Vertigo Corsa boots. My recommendation is the same as for tires - spend as much as you can afford.

Best of luck!
