Brake line and mudguard?

Hi guys. What do you think of the front over the mudguard line touching the mudguard itself?Big deal? Both are attached to ‘the same’ point so move together.

Sounds like your front brake line is touching your front fender. I doubt if gentle contact with the fender will harm the line but it will harm the finish on the fender. I'd switch to two aftermarket full length lines from the MC. For now, you could get some self adhesive foam weather stripping and stick it on the fender to hold the line away.

I just logged in here to say I’ve measured up the front and I’m gonna order 2 lines run from the MC.Might get new pads too although they are not too bad.
Cheers.

The two line setup is the preferred way to do it. I ordered the Galfer lines for the Gen2 Hayabusa and they fit well. I rigged up a small retainer from zip ties and a cable tie mount for the front lines.

Since the cross-over line is a constant distance from the calipers, I don't think the movement is an issue. Still, the 2 lines are best IMO.

Thanks for the post.Is there a spot on the front triple to mount (2014 Busa) a zip tie screw mount like you did?

@murphc13 I would think so. The exact info for the 2008 is in the tutorial. I believe that bolthole I used was for the front brake line block and the Gen3 should have one of those. I think just about any bike will have that. My Kawasaki has that as well. You might not really need to use it but I liked the idea and it's worked out well for 10 years.

I’ll check that out. Thanks again man. Those lines are on the way anyway.
Looking forward to getting her up and going again.Just hope the mounting point isn’t on the stock forks because I have Ohlins on mine now.

If you mean the the mounting point for the front brake block, I doubt there would be anything on the forks. It would be on the lower clamp. Again, you don't really need any kind of retainer. It seemed like a good idea at the time so I did it. I had no retainer at all for the front aftermarket lines on my Kawasaki and it was fine.

Just the retainer.I’m sure it’ll be fine without being held there but it looks neat and is functional even if not 100% necessary.
