Are aftermarket rotors better and why? I understand why aftermarket pads are better. Different materials......yaddah yaddah. But what makes a rotor any better. The only thing that I can see that might make a rotor better is the ability to disapate heat and gases. Answers, thoughts, opinions.

you answered it pretty much.....just different theories on slots & drilled patterns ..... until you get into the unobtanium models.... like CF Rotors.

for the most part it's just slightly better materials with a bit of weight savings....and they can look better too.

I got a set of used OEM rotors from another member.....used HH pads....still some meat left on the pads but my stopping was getting worse.
thought the rotors were shot....bought some new HHs and everything is fine again.
The OEMs are holding well.

Wave rotors actually have more surface area designed for stopping. Each new edge that the pad makes contact with is additional stopping power. In addition they also disapate heat a little better from what I hear.
