BRAKES!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, there is nothing worse than pulling up to a stop with a hottie looking at you on your bad a** Busa, when all of a sudden you brakes squeal loud enough to bring the neighbor hood dogs to your rescue.

The squeal is coming from the front brakes. Sounds like the brakes are low. So Last night I tore the front brakes down and inspected the pads, the pads looked great. Granted there is some wear on them, as expected. They are HH rated pads and are way above the wear limit. I don't want to replace them, but I have to I have another set of HHs ready for install.

Anyone ever experience this and have a cure? Please help, the dogs around my neighborhood are getting very pissed at me.. Someone recommended using sand paper on the rotors to scuff them up a little. Good Idea? or not?

using sandpaper to scuff the rotors and the pads will only temporarily fix the noise.

former techician... had this problem with mine just after it was brand new.

1) do the reccomended sanding.
2) when the noise comes back, go to your dealer and demand better brake pads under warranty! I did, and got race pads. Still use them to this day, and never a squeak since!

My 04 did the same thing with 80 miles on it, put it on a stand and the front wheel would not turn easily, one rotor would be very hot, the other cold. Dealer said one rotor was sticking. Better take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the info Falcon, the wheel spins freely and the calipers never get hot. I belive it has something to do with the pads. Couldnt hurt to take it to the shop..thanks guys..

I had as similar problem, the mechanic never pump the front shocks before clamping the two right fork bolts (as per manual). The manual does not state the purpose of this exercise, but it actualy centralises the right caliper on the disc as the busa has no axel spacers. Worth a try it, should only take a minute to do.

Oh yeah, and make sure there is no air in the brake lines too.
