+1I would go with the 06 brand new forks @ $350 "buy it now" and get the newer rotors w/black carriers. It shouldn't run ya over $400 and you're upgrading to the new stuff.
I would have to agree 100%... to much weight for the 1 caliper to handle on such a heavy bike... 2 rotors on the front for a reason... and stoppies i'm sure werent one of them... you can at least put the other rotor and caliper on and ride until you get the stuff to repair your forks...I must agree with the not to do stoppies... *NOTE* I was only running one rotor........so this might of never happened if I had both on the bike.
+1Replace it
100 % agree. Exactly why it happened...Torsional stresses added to the fork legs and triple tree from the force being applied to only one leg instead of both.
Glad your OK but that was stupid, both the stoppie on a Busa and the one rotor, WHY
Why would anyone have said you were wrong about that? There is a reason that they put two rotors on.Yeah this one goes in the "I told you so" file. There was a big debate about running one rotor awhile back and I was pooh-poohed for stating the potential problems with one rotor.
This exact problem was one of them. This is a heavy bike and the added shear force on one caliper with the other removed was in theory going to be too much.
Braking distance would be reduced, argue it all ya want it wont stop as quick as it would stock.

Just glad you are alright. No biggie we all experiment with different set ups.I bought the bike with one rotor on it. I did not see any reason it would hurt. I have done stoppies before with no problems I guess last night was not my night, I agree the bike will have two rotors on it for now on.
