broken sidestands

All this talk about "defective" side stands.. I am surprised one of your clever types have not designed a replacement side stand, made the way it should have been. I mean a simple bolt on, no drilling etc.... Copy another stand out there to make sure it works properly, sounds like you would have a lot of customers here..

Just curiuos to know if anyone knows of a bike falling over because of broken sidestand? I have never seen one yet but often wonder especially those fully loaded bikes. These stands are mass produced by the millions and there must be some out there with some type of metal fatigue.

The Side Stand is the Cheapest Looking item on the Bike.....now I am looking to buy a
Centerstand.

I was gonna notch the Stand for a Better
Locked extension....but...

I've never heard of it happening. Sidestands are likely designed for rigidity rather than for weight, meaning they're WAY overbuilt for the amount of stress they see and would never come close to failing from metal fatigue.
