BUCKING BUSA (Need Help Taming This Horse)

New symptom: When I left work today I got about 2 miles out and couldn't get past 3k RPM or above 30-35 MPH. After riding like that for about 2 minutes it cut off. I started it back up and kept riding. It kept doing that for about 5 miles. I pulled over, cut the bike off and called my mechanic.(he didn't answer; I left a message) So I was stopped about 3-5 minutes. Started the bike back up and drove home (35 miles) with no more problems aside from the original one I mentioned in the first post.

you say you couldnt get past 3k or 35mph. Why. What did it do? Did it cut out real bad, surge, stall, ect...?

I'm leaning towards fuel filter. Especially since its when you try to load the sys. with excessive fuel that causes the most prob. If the filter is dirty it will let a little fuel through at a time hence slight exceleration is okay but full throttle it bucks because its not getting adequent fuel.

Varnish....thoroughly clean the fuel system, and change your plugs. While you're at it, synch the throttles....VOILA !....no more st-st-st-st-stutter !!!! :super:

Do what most have been saying,Put plugs in it,check fuel pressure, take the tank off and pull the fuel pump out to check if the if anything is blocked.Check to make sure the battery is fully charged and ALL the connections are good also.

Ok I give.... take it to a shop so that they can check the fuel delivery correctly... you can hunt and peck issues till you are blue in the face to find out you either have a simple hard mechanical issue (fuel pump) or simple maintenance issue (IE TB sync)

if you can not do these simple things, you have no business checking injectors or flow rates.. You should understand that "fuel system cleaners" are meant for taking care of a relatively clean system.. Dumping them in a highly varnished system can do more damage (plug an injector beyond repair for instance) There are commercial cleaners designed for "clogged" injectors along with the equipment to run them..

Chris fought this stuff for weeks when a fuel pressure check would have shown the problem in a few minutes.. (then you can find source of issue)

What is sort of funny is we would get these types of problems in, the guy complains about the diagnostic charge because they had already spent like $300 on junk they did not need...

As I always told my guys, check the basics first... (and do not order any parts till you talk with me first)

I have run across this issue with vehicles. Matter of fact,...........just 3 months ago,.......I had a customer's vehicle (89 Ford F150) doing the exact some problem. This vehicle was a secondary vehicle which is driven very little. I found a restricted fuel filter, which once replaced, made a tremendous improvement,........but still had a bad loss of power under hard throttle,........but would accelerate under light throttle. I checked all computer inputs, secondary and primary ignition components,.........but could not find the problem. Under the conditions of NOT being driven very often, I decided to clean the injectors. Immediately, the vehicle regained excellent throttle response with no further driveability issues.

I would start with a new fuel filter and pressure clean the injectors. I have the equipment to do the cleaning if you don't mind riding about an hour to my shop. Ashley PM'ed me. Let me know if I can help.
