I've only got 15K miles on my bike and it's only 2 years old and it's already burning oil. Anyone else have this problem on their bike? Not much I can do about it right now, I'm just a little disappointed.
Are you sure? Is there white smoke on start-up or continuous blue smoke while driving? If not have you checked the condition of your crankcase breather at the back of the engine, right under the fuel pump? If you have any oily dirty residue around the tube it may just be a leak and not oil consumption. This will leak to the left side and down into the sprocket area making it difficult to spot.
JUST MY 2 PENNIES- SMELLED OIL BURNING ONCE AND NOTICED I HAD PUT TO MUCH IN ON THE LAST CHANGE WHICH RESULTED IN SPITTING OUT FROM THE OIL PRESSURE RELIEF LOCATED TO THE LEFT OF THE FILTER. ATTACHED IS A SMALL 12 GAUGE WIRE (BLACK) MY ADVICE IS TO TAKE THE RIGHT SIDE FAIRING OFF AND RUN THE BIKE FOR A FEW MINUTES. WATCH CLOSELY W/ A GOOD FLASH LIGHT AND LOOK AROUND. GOOD LUCK!
