Busa at Reg Pridmore School

I never got passed by Reg-I must've been off in the rotation so to speak so maybe I had almost a whole track to work with as he was running me down! Either that or he was alarmed by my erratic weaving and decided to back off.....! He passed you on the inside? Wasn't that against the rules??

Heh. I guess he meant for just us not to go inside. I didn't heed his advice about tight lines in the hairpins, and went high into 3a (I thought it would be quicker). Right as I dove in he came motoring through nearly on the inside edge, snuffing my ego a bit while proving his point :) I'm routinely flapping my arms and talking to myself in corners now. That's gotta freak out the cagers even more :)

You guys convinced me. I'm doing that next year. Dam that sounds like fun. If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost?

Cost was $310 with tax and all. Pretty stiff but worth it.

In turn 3a I always aimed for that little patch of pavement that was at the correct turn in point but a few times I was still carrying too much momentum and would come out of 3a a little wide and have to move over to the right a bit to get set for 3b. I was really hammering out of 3b and was getting enough speed to where I was getting a noticeable g-out hitting the uphill before 4. I also began to notice that missing turn 4 would NOT be fun since going straight on would mean going down a hill into a bunch of grass and who knows what else. I was wondering what those ambulance people must've been thinking parked there between 3 and 4.

Jeff-Before the class my tires were worn about the same as yours. After buying the Busa I also considered myself to be the most dangerous feature on the bike(and still do really). It's much easier to play with lean angles on a track where traction is predictable and good and turns are tailor made. Peter Egan has a good article about the track in the October Cycle World. I have no plans to reproduce those lean angles on the street. Too risky and just asking for a crash. Enjoy your class!

I've got an opportunity to go to Spokane's raceway this sunday (through Bellevue Suzuki Ducati). $100 gets you an all day run. My first time out to SIR a friend of mine overshot turn for at 60 mph or better. Nobody saw him go over, or realized it until he came crawling back up the hill. Bike was for the most part destroyed, and he has some impressive bruising the next day.
My tires are a bit squared off. Anybody know if that will cause to much of a problem cornering at track speeds?

velocirapter........
i chose group A.
mostly because group B seemed to be all touring bikes that day.
i was on my VFR 750.(wish i had taken the Busa)
Reg got on to people who were passing on the inside, but i don't think much was said about top speed.
He did point out that the class was not a race and to practice what he teaches.
it's freaky to see how fast Reg rides with a passenger.
