Im about to buy a busa boys! Any difference between the 99 and 2000? Im fond of the black and silver 99s. Whats the going rate for a new 99?
thanks

I may be mistaken, but I think the only way you will find a New black/silver is to buy a 2000 model and paint it. I believe the '99s have been sold out for awhile and '00s are selling well. If you look long and hard enough, you may find a new '99 hid away somewhere but I would be surprized. Jack

A new copper 99 sold at Marina Suzuki in LA in January for $12,000. The guy just had to have a copper one. There are a few used black ones around with less than 5,000 miles in near-mint shape, running around $9,000. One was on Ebay two weeks ago, in LA, guy was asking $8,900 (3,000 miles, he was selling because he was getting married).

Personally, I'd do a lot of looking at this point. A dealer might treat you right on a new 2000 if you're lucky. That might be the way to go. People who ride these really aren't selling them much. We know why. :)

N20, I see you are in Corona. You might look on Ebay and see if that one is still listed there. I deleted the guy's e-mail address or I'd give it to you.

Jack, I was hoping to do what I think N2O hoped to do too, wait and scoop a left-over new one from a dealership at a great price. Dream on, they didn't exactly over-produce these. I did just about as well, only got six months of warranty but other than that a new bike. But the deal I got was like one in a thousand. I lucked out, and had some help also.

do they make a solid black? Motorhead its worth 350+hp yahooooo Im glad Im a swede....
cant wait boy..let me at em

Atomsmasher...Im in Corona ,ca been here for 20 something years...but I will take advantage of my lines.hehehe well the volvo and turbocharging got to hand it to them Swedes

N2O, Corona is right by Riverside, correct? You are practically next door to Turbo Rick. If you want to turbo a Busa, you are totally in the sweet spot.

If the black/grey one in Studio City hasn't sold yet, I'd check it out if you're serious. The guy was asking $8,900. I was going to offer him 8 bills. 3,000 miles, mint stock bike, selling because he's getting married, it could be a winner.

A word of advice...when you get it, guard it with your life. There's pro thieves in LA who target these.

Mr.Bear,
Yep corona is in riverside county. I will check with the studio city busa guy. Yep Turbo Rick is a good friend with vast knowledge with turbos and now nitrous hehehe. Due to his extremely busy schedule I would not want to drop of a busa while hes trying to develope and refine his own bikes. I will go with the mc xpress kit.
cheers

N2O, I just looked on Ebay and the black & grey one is still there. The guy hasn't gotten any bids and has dropped his starting price to $8,400. It is still under warranty, and I bet you would get it for eight.

That's about three grand less than you would get one out of a dealership for. Since he's in your neighborhood you could drive there and look at it before making the committment, have him start it up, etc. You can get his e-mail address off the ad on Ebay. But I would forget about dealing through Ebay, just deal with him directly.

If it was me and I hadn't just gotten mine, I'd jump on that one. It was my next choice. Ducmanic might want to move on that one if you don't, since he's looking for another one to make a Swedish Turbo Express machine out of. If you get it, you have to bring it by the Stir Crazy in Hollywood. Then you'll be LABusa material!

I sent him a mail ,hope he calls back Im ready now if its in excellent shape! There will be a turbo busa in riverside county boys...Or should I say a mcxpress turbo busa..yahooo

He replied to me within a day. He said it had been treated well, had never been tipped over, and runs like a dream. He did say he trailered it once and it got a couple rub marks where the straps touched the bodywork. I heard it's not a good idea to haul these on a trailer or in a truck for that exact reason. But if a couple small scratches basically gets you $3,000 off, I'd say you're winning. You just have to go look at it and see what you think. He sounded pretty straight up.

Hope you get a sweet one! Let us know how it goes.

Just talked to him..its been tipped over gently and has a small couple scratches on the left side lowers + the strap rub marks. All recall services have been performed.. Ill go look at it this week.
thanks bear!

Here in Canada the Busa is still ofered in the black/silver for 2000. I saw it at the bike show, spoke to the dealer about it and he showed it to me in the new Suzuki catologue. All he can order in is black and silver ones and the blue ones for Canada.

My error, N2O...thinking back, he didn't actually say to me it had not ever been tipped. I didn't ask and he didn't say it had been, so I assumed it hadn't. He mentioned the strap marks. He seems pretty honest.

Speaking of tip-overs, watch that side stand. Whenever you put it on the stand, put it in first gear and roll it forward until it takes all the slack in the drive chain before putting the weight on the stand. A lot of guys here have had theirs fall off the side stand. It works fine if you're careful, but it's touchy.

Contrary to popular opinion, the black/silver is faster than the copper, but it's so stealthy that nobody notices when they go by. 8=)

Yes, and the new blue and silver 2000 the fastest of all.The paint is more slippery I believe.I just happen to have one.
