should she be getting this hot???!!!

whats the halfway mark temp on the guage? and whats the temp right before the red?

thanks

she gets hot in heavy traffic mine does never in the red just a tad past halfway. you can try engine ice that should help some.

if u do most of your ridin in stop-n-go traffic u may want to try sum better coolant- Red Line or Royal Purple...
also may want to upgrade your rad.fans if the temp is constantly goin close to red.
halfway mark on gauge is really good tho-no need for concern if it stays around there.

yeah i think the fan kicked on, i know it did at a later time tonight cause i heard it.

better coolant sounds good. thanks. little concerened cause it's not even summer yet.

I replaced the stock fan with a Muzzy fan. That sucka moves some air! It's not summer yet, but we've had several days close to 90. Hasn't gotten above 1/2 yet!

That bike should not be getting that hot. Since it's new take it back to the dealer and tell him how hot it got. Tell him to check coolant and burp the system. I have a feeling you got an air bubble in it. I have been sitting in traffic in 110+ days and it has never gotten that hot. Air in the line would do that.

How is the Muzzy better than stock other than being metal and not melting? I think they both have the same amount of blades..maybe its the pitch of the blades??

Muzzy is better that stock because it want melt from the heat of the header...

sounds like it might be a combo of running hot and with new headers and all in stop in go traffic it got real hot... There is also the possibility that you might have a small bit of air in your system but usually your bike would start dumping a bit of coolant out if that was the case... if getting in that kind of traffic is a normal thing for you, you could always look into those kits they have out there for relocating the temp switch for the coolant system... it makes the fan come on sooner and stay on longer...
