Busa Loses Its Full Power ... sometimes

your welcome. i'm still looking for cheaper
places to get OEM parts...

2002 and up fuel pumps seem to be
about $460 from the dealship. fiche seems
to be saying you can't tear them down.

Okay it has been a while but i finally got around to doint a fuel pressure test, When i turn the key before start-up the pump primes to right around 28 PSI, When i kept on doing four or five times later - the pump would prime to about 20 PSI. So i guess that is what my problem was

Okay it has been a while but i finally got around to doint a fuel pressure test,  When i turn the key before start-up the pump primes to right around 28 PSI,    When i kept on doing four or five times later  - the pump would prime to about 20 PSI.  So i guess that is what my problem was
before buying a new one. Mod up the old filter like I did with my 2000. Pull the pump apart, throw away the paper filter inside that will have already been disintegrating and clogging everything. Pull out the white plastic insert in the pump.Clean that little tiny screen in the end. Clean each injector screen.
Re assemble pump WITHOUT a filter. Install a good quaulity throw away car filter for at least a 2 liter motor with fuel injection(it will handle the hi pressure). Install it inline after the pump, before the injector rail, and you'll be good to go. Try that first, cost you seven bucks to try.

Rubb.
