Has Motea Paddock Stands for
Gen1, Gen2, and Gen3 Busas, as well as alot of other bikes, and they are on sale now for up to 30% off, plus an additional 40% with code BLACK40
I just ordered one for my 2003 Gsxr1000(wife insisted she get me something nice for Christmas, even after I said I didn't need or want anything...but I couldn't say no to this, lol).
They get really good reviews, and I already have a very similiar Bursig stand(currently using it on the '18 Gsxr1k).
These stands are great for many things, including suspension work, setting suspension sag, and quickly moving the bike around, and into easier storage spaces.
Check them out, and get one before the sale ends!

Price varies by bike.
For my '03 Gsxr1k, it was $234, plus $26 shipping.
In 2011 I paid $700 for my Bursig for my Gen2.
I traded that for a B-king, and my Dad put one of the pins in the lathe, and I put that pin in a new location(Bursig has multiple holes on it's headstock) and I used it on that bike.
5 years ago he made a new pin, and now the '18 Gsxr1k uses the Bursig.
The Motea stand gets as good of reviews as the Bursig, but as said, has several different height points, vs the Bursig's one, so I am confident/hopeful that it will be as good, as the Bursig is worth it's weight in gold to me, given how easy it makes working on and storing the bike.

I know some things are expensive too, but I buy tools with the intent that they outlast the bike, if specific to it, and are then sold or repurposed for another bike...or they will just outlast me in general.
I bought my first lift table almost 2 years ago, after decades of 'not needing one', and my only regret...was not buying one decades ago, lol

I felt the same way when I bought my lift table nearly 20 years ago.

I definitely understand the need for one of these...I've had 2 bikes now with no center stand OR ability to put them on a standard motorcycle jack since there is no bottom frame.
I'm strongly considering hunting down a factory 1st gen center stand just so I can remove the front wheel without getting sketchy.

Paddock stand is still almost as cheap as a used oem center-stand, and cheaper after you buy the spring it needs, lol

And, if you do buy a center stand, you'll still need to put a floor jack with a block of wood on it under the headers, to remove the front wheel, as the weight displacement will make the bike tip forward otherwise, and why the rear tire stays off the ground when on the center stand.
You can still rock the bike on to the back tire easily enough, but it won't stay there on it's own.

You can also get one of these....I've used it several times with zero issues and the bike is very stable.

246 if you get the stand without the rug

Cool, I didn't notice that...guess that's why I didn't get a rug with mine...
lol

So that centerstand worth it?? I got one in my shopping cart and seriously thinking about biting the bullet....

The centerstands are good, handy for chain maintenance or a rear tire change...but you can buy a swingarm stand for $40, or even cheaper used, and do the same things.
The paddock stand offers alot more, easier and quicker on/off than front and rear stands, much quicker to adjust suspension than any other stand, and very easy to move the bike around, especially if you need it in a tight spot out of the way.

I think they are a great idea.....I have three stands, if I had a clue I would just have one-one of these...

The only good side to all of my stands is I can use them for multiple bikes....last summer I did some work on my son's bike when he visited and the stands came in handy...

There are still jobs that need front and rear stands, where the paddock stand won't work, like engine removal.
And I agree, front and rear stands work on most bikes.
I have an assortment, and work on alot of different bikes, and hate making 80 point turns and putting a block under a kickstand to get a bike out of the way, so the paddock stand has helped me alot over the years doing that.

One of my friends had a BMW S1000R and had a Bursig stand for it, that stand was brilliant....he had a lot of stuff in his garage and it was great for getting the bike tucked out of the way if necessary.

When he sold the bike, lots of people were wanting to get the stand separately and he had to constantly tell people the stand goes with the bike.

Well...that's garbage engineering  I agree with the price tho...nuts the center stand is so expensive when almost nobody wanted it!
I hate using my rear stand, and I have no way of lifting the front end without hoisting my bike with strap shibari. I just want to lift the bike up centered so I can remove both wheels, sprocket cover, calipers, etc.

The paddock stand @sixpack577 featured would be the way to go for you methinks...

The alternative are the front and rear stands which would allow you to do all the things you want and if you need to remove the front forks, there is a piece you can get to do this as well (I already attached that picture elsewhere in this thread).

My stands work excellently....I've had both wheels off several times as well as the front forks....with zero issues.

Can you use the stand on either side of the bike or does the plate only match up with the chain side?

@Bumblebee 's post#10
Front forklift stand is all that you need, if you already have a rear stand, as the bike needs to be up on a rear stand first so it doesn't fall to either side.
