Busa Rear Faring Mods

Rustie, the Harley riders won't bite, they like the Hayabusa, you be surprise how much of the Harley riders come out to talk to me when I go down to San Jose Harley to pick up the ThunderPress News or buy parts for my Harleys.Ride Safe,Would like to see pictures on the rear tail lights, post them on LaBusa website.

Hello 'Busa riders.........I'm brand new to this list. Anyone know if there is an available "Eurotail" out there for this bike? It would be much cleaner than sawing off the stock fender. Also, just found out from another list member that the info on the C/F "Coerce" front signal/ram air inlet inserts originated here. Anything yet on their phone number?

Would like to get those bar-end mirrors and C/F mirror "block off plates" as well. How about the best place to get the BMC filter? Any help is appreciated.

BTW, I do have the Yosh S/S pipes with the high mount and still retained the passenger footpegs for my "spinner". It CAN be done! I recently trashed those damn UGLY rear turn signals and replaced them with some super bright amber LED strips from "Custom Chrome" (set in a custom machined aluminum mount).......but had to hold my nose when I placed my order for the LED's at the local "Hardley" shop! Also, just got a pair of true HID replacement lights for the Busa (low AND hi beam). Man, are these lights BRIGHT.......and only 35 watts each (70 watts total)!!! If anyone wants pics of the rear pegs or LED's, just Email me at rustie6@gte.net .

I would like to see pics/info on your HID lights. Headlights have been a hot topic lately and I just went to some haligon/xenon bulbs which are better than stock but not true HID. Thanks.

I'll soon have some pics of the rear footpegs w/the Yosh high mount exhaust and the LED turn signals that I can send by Email directly, but pics of the HID headlamp will really show nothing new. Also, I doubt if an actual photo of the additional lighting coverage will show how remarkable the HID's actually are because the camera will automatically "stop down" from the extreme brightness over a stock Halogen.........but I'll still give it a try and see if the much "whiter light" shows distant objects clearer (as it does in person). L8R, Rustie

Rustie,

Can you tell us a little about the HID replacement lights? Did you have to change out the entire stock headlight housing? What about the HID ignitors? How difficult were they to wire up? Where did you purchase and how much? Was it Busa specfic, motorcycle specific or made for automobiles?
What is the brand name?
Thanks.

Used the original stock headlamp (but I bought a second so my bike wasn't out of action while the conversion took place). Only the lamps were replaced (the 9005 high beam and the H7 low beam).

Baja Designs (http://www.bajadesigns.com/p25b.html) finished the conversion in about one week.........but it's not cheap! One could just do the low beam conversion for almost half the cost and leave the stock 9005 halogen in place. The connections are real simple. First connection is directly to the battery for power (both poles) and then the only other connection is to the original bulb's wiring harness for the single "trigger wire" (connected to the bulb harness' "+" lead)........that's it! The trigger wire activates the included HID relay to fire the directly powered HID bulbs (NON shielded).

The special Busa low beam reflector prevents blinding oncoming drivers, but that "projector lensed" high beam with a HID bulb in place is just TOTALLY AWESOME!!! This extreme amount of W-I-D-E "white light" really opens up your night time "peripheral vision" to more than double that of the halogen..........nearly 90% of daylight!!! As mentioned, IF only on the HID low beam, you will not blind oncoming drivers.......same can't be said for the high beam tho......definitely MAKES people notice you......and they get outa your way, FAST!!!

Still need to find out about the "Eurotail" design for the Busa. "Texas Farings" makes a similar unit, but it's not real clean looking. I heard that someone else makes one up in Quebec somewhere..........any idea guys???? L8R, Rustie........

Rustie can you send me pictures of the hi yosh foot pegs with turn signals.

I have a rear "fenderless kit" in fiberglass or carbon fiber.

Rustie send your pic's to Hemillard@snet.net,
I will return a PDF brochure of Hayabusa body parts.
