Ouch i just looked into Forward Air for shipping, its $644 each way!

I just did some checking with Ryder. Looks like less than 2000 bucks for a rental truck plus the fuel. How many bikes would fit in a 26 foot enclosed box? Might be the cheapest way to move a bunch of bikes. Just thinking out loud here.......

So what the average length of a busa is? Just under 8 ft? at 2 side by side?

Air Ship: $644 each way - $1,288 round trip

Distance from Nashua, NH to Reno, NV: ~2900 miles each way; 5800 miles round trip.

For argument's sake, let's say fuel climbs back up to $2.50/gallon next July. Further, let's say that when all loaded down with gear, you only get 35mpg on the Busa.

So.... (5800 miles / 35mpg) x 2.50/gal = $414.38 total, representing a savings of $873.62!!!

Clearly, my brother, you need to RIDE to the epic event... it'll be just another part of the overall summer adventure!

I am not opposed to flying but I would only have 1 full day there. That is our busy season and no one gets time off.

There'll be some rentals available in Reno. You could feasibly fly directly there and pick up a bike (variety of types available, we're investigating right now). Also, there are a couple of 'busa rental places along the correct coast. Certainly in San Diego, but that's a hefty ride...

Anyway, keep your eyes peeled...there may be some options (which are more attractive) come available as we progress.

Hi Guys.
I am working on plans for a IBA 50CC from Jacksonville to San Diego in order to attend the 'pede.
Working on leaving Jacksonville on Tuesday long before Dawn, overnighting in Ft Stockton Tx, arriving in San Diego Wed night. Leaving San Diego on Thursday for the 500 mile trip to Reno. Checking into the Peppermill on Thursday night. In this way I can kill two birds with one stone.
Anyone up to an Iron Butt Run then?
I can be ride captain for that.
Will need to meet with interested parties long before hand to familiarize our selves and synchronise riding styles.
I am willing to do a 1500 BBG with any one before hand if necessary.
What do youall think?

Finalised the ride plan for a 50CC from Jacksonville to San Diego then on to Reno. Any interested parties may initiate contact and I will provide details and complete ride plan. I also have plans to enjoy some more of Cal fine roads before and or after based on peoples available time and resources.

Mr. M: I know there are others coming this way from Florida and other points on the East Coast for the Busa Stampede. Angel (Lycan) is heading up the East Coast contingent, but if you're coming early, you might end up riding to Reno with me and a couple of others from San Diego to arrive Reno on Tuesday, to enjoy the Sierra Nevada's before the official Stampede Program gets underway.

Congrats on planning this monumental trip.
