BUSA Transmissions

HI,

I recently installed a BDE Gen 3 system on my 2000 BUSA which has over 30k miles on it. She is definitely "Born Again Hard". It's stunning how quick and responsive she is. I haven't taken it to the Dyno yet to see the HP gains, but I can feel that I've picked up quite a bit and I know I've saved quite a bit of weight.

Anyway, I was wondering if there was any way to beef up the BUSA transmission without tearing down the entire motor. Every now and then the 1st to 2nd shift doesn't want to engage all the way and that concerns me (only happens when drag racing)...It's probably me just making a lazy shift, but I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to beef up the tranny.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

you can beef up the transmission by undercutting the gears, but that requiers of removing the engine & tear it down, this link will give you some ideas.

but you really don't need to do it. i replaced the hub with billet one & the basket too with billet one, i also have the 2 stage lockup clutch kit which you have to modifey the clutch cover for that. & let me tell you one thing, i can dump the clutch at 7000rpm, it will never slip. just holdon to the bike.
