Busa's beware?

I just read a brochure on the ZX-14 at the local Kaw dealership. Here's a quote from it: "Meet the new king of power. The outrageous Ninja ZX-14. Oh, one more thing on urban myths: To all birds of prey, it's time to fly the coup. The Ninja rules".
I'm sure Kawasaki has tested the bike and that's why they make this claim. I also heard they didn't make the bike to beat stock Hayabusa's. They made it to beat modified Hayabusa's.
With all these claims Kawasaki has been making, the bike better perform. I'd sure like to see some road tests on the 14 just to see how fast it really is. I'm sure I could beat it fairly easy with my nitrous powered ZX-12R. But, I just might have to order me a pretty blue one.

The blue is nice, the color itself. The ZX14 on the other hand, looks like it was beat by an Ugly stick for hours.

When the Busa came out, the majority of people, including me, thought it was the ugliest bike they had ever seen. It does kind of grow on you. I think the 14 will grow on people, too. It'll be hard to tell until you can see it in person instead of in a picture.

kawasaki hasn't made any claims but most major mags are figuring 165 170 rwhp also says kawasaki restricted it to the gentleman top speed of 186. but its gonna be interesting that's for shur

Oh its gonna be faster than anything else out there no doubt. And the new Busa will be even faster yet....the question is------how fast do we need? lol Besides my Busa's gonna get a Ghetto soon...which I believe will completely cure my desire for any more hp on the street....I hope

not me . the first time i saw a hayabusa was the summer of 1999 or 2000.

i was at the local dragstrip with my car and there were 3 or 4 busa's with the hump's on them and a few were slammed(lowered)

a few were running 9's and i thought it was the coolest bike i ever laid my eyes on .

at that time i never had even rode a streetbike and i knew nothing about bikes . i just thought it was the baddest bike i had ever seen and with the et's to back it up

lol.. just kidding.. I do think the hayabusa gets a little more than it's fair share of em' though.

Won't bother me a bit to thin the herd down to people who didn't buy it because of it's label.

SEVEN YEARS FROM NOW, when the zx-13.5r has built up a rep by not blowing engines, suffering crappy quick construction, has a host of mods available, fills the winners circle at drag strips consistantly, fills the list of most used bike joining the 200MPH clubs, and it's parent company is taking home trophys at cycle races, I see them at local trackdays, and pricing is brought back to the 10k cap, I'll glance over to the 13.5r's owner and say, "NOW you can understand where I'm coming from"
