Cagers honking their horns!

Maybe they're trying to tell you you're flying low. Maybe.

Funny stuff guys.

I went to some local shops Yamaha, Suzuki, HD and asked the same question. I got different answers from all of them.

HD - Fans of our bikes cheering us on.
Yamaha - HD Fans Flipping us off
Suzuki - Locals who are tired of us shredding down their roads.

Each did agree on one thing as long as they stay on their side of the road we will live to fight another day.

I've never had it happen quite like that. I do get it occasionally when I do a legal pass in a passing zone, even when I do a slow and polite pass (without getting on my HMF's.) This passing phenomenon isn't exclusive to just bikes though, because I've had it happen on more than one occasion when passing a car while in a car. Some people are just sensitive and touchy about being passed for some reason. It's never personal for me... I just want to get where I'm going a bit faster than the person in from of me, but I guess they sometimes don't see it that way.

since you were going the opposite direction and the speed limit.. guess the light thingie like everyone said..

dont turn around and chase them.. they could slam their brakes.. you are taking a 500 pounds to 3000 pounds.. you lose in the end.

good luck.. or maybe have the air horn installed

Here’s the situation your riding down a road (usually a two lane back road during the day) minding your own business going the speed limit.  Then a cage going the other way lays on the horn for about 5 seconds as they go past.  Now, I tried to chase down the last guy who did this and he almost killed himself trying to get away.  What up with this? Doesn’t happen everyday but a few times a year for sure.

Do they hate bikers?
HD fans?
Haters?
What?
Maybe Your Just that Kinda Ugly?

Maybe if you stay outta the oncoming lane they will quit honking?

Hell Maybe they are white and simply living up to the Term "Honky"?

I know, maybe your actually a hot lil' blonde and your rollin around topless??? ?

Never had it happen,  in over 12 years of street riding, not once.  Got me Stumped...

It’s kind of a known issue around here and seems to be isolated to one particular area.  The only time it happens is on the roads in, out, and around Lake Berryessa.  Also they only do it when you ride alone.  No bikers seem to be immune, it does look like the HD clones are targeted more but, HD riders tell me in private its happened to them.  I’m guessing that my local Suzuki dealer hit the nail on the head when they said it’s “Locals who are tired of us shredding down their roads.† I can live with that.

I have never had anyone blowing their horn at me.  When I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO we would run the back farm roads all the time.  I wouldn't chase anyone who did honk at me down one of these back roads.  Some of the roads we were on looked like they came out of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre...LOL.  Not a good idea to chase cagers down, I agree with the middle finger solution, they could always try and chase you but we all know how futile that will be.

Well , for all I know , these guys around here could be honkin' too , But , between the D&D pipes and the headphones , I wouldn't know anyway .
