Call me crazy...

Crazy? Nah, I think you've just been at sea too long. That's gonna be one long and cold ride.

:welcome: to the .oRg!

You might want to research the best way to tie down your new bike and be prepared for that in case the u haul plan comes up, weather in PNW is nasty about now - I'm south and east of Seattle in Idaho and just got snow. You could trailer out of the nasty stuff and ride the rest, a lot of the foul weather up here comes with high winds, on wet roads that gets ugly....
Congrats on the bike your gonna love it.

Ben, Thanks for the advice man. The more I think about it the more I may want to Uhaul it down as far as SoCal. I think this warm weather on the Equator and being on a ship since July has clouded my judgement some

I've got a little time back in the States before I make my big ride so I'll decide then exactly what I'm going to do. I'll certainly let everybody know how the trip goes and all once I'm dry, thawed, and back in one piece.

Seattle is wet right now. Try I 5 down to the junction of Hwy 40 and then due east, you might not get too fouled with the weather but watch the south Oregon, NorCal passes, could be snow...
