Calling all Icon Users

Hi, I have a Timax jacket on order and would like some Timax pants as well....can someone give me a hint on the sizing? I suppose too big is better than too small because I can always wear a pair of pants underneath.

If you guys want some decent Icon prices give me a ring.

Icon gear isn't cheaply made, it's quality stuff IMO. Their jackets rock.
I use everything but the Icon boots, only because they don't make a 15wide.

For what its worth, I have 2 $ 500 plus helmets, I borrowed a friends Icon @ $230, this is the quietest helmet I've ever had on my head!!!! Go figure! I'm a real big fan of the red burner jacket like Diesel has as well.:)

OK My .02 The ICON helmets are something to be feared. You've got 99cents worth of injection molded plastic protecting your head... NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!! Combine this with Chinese mass market production and an emphasis on style over substance built to a price? You begging for a concussion...

Save your pennies and get a decent, high quality ARAI, Shoei, maybe even Soumy.

The rest of their gear is pretty decent, gloves look interesting and will do the job, The Armored vest is a joke but better than being naked, the knee armor will work but make sure your not very big. Their Leather seems to be decent, smells good, nice and heavy weight, otherwise their textile stuff is pretty chintzy but should work on the streets... Their riding gear is aimed at the street and that is a little refreshing for those of us who spend 99% of our time on the street.

Just get thee out of their price point helmet and into something that belongs on your head. The Plastic shell and cheep liners are a recipe for a bent head... Quiet is NOT a good reason to pick a helmet, fit and protection are.

That is what earplugs are for, and yeah, you should be wearing those too...

I have the ICON skull jacket and helmet. I paid $600 for the jacket and 250 for the helmet. I found the jacket much cheaper on another web site. Do a lot of web surfing before you purchase something.

I still love the jacket and helmet though.

Rev, got a shoei and carbon axo rr6,both are over 500 bucks, tha axo over 600, I didnt buy the Icon, just took it for a test drive, and as stated, it was very quiet.I dont know for sure, but i think the Icon carries both DOT and Snell ratings,They dont just give those ratings away. My guess on the reason its much cheaper, is the cost of labor where ever it was produced.I havent owned anything by Icon, so I cant vouch for their reliability or longevity, simply like I said : The quietest helmet I've ever tried.Personally, I'm a firm believer in buying the very best protection I can,So I'll stick with Shoei, Arai, and my Axo as far as helmets,my axo has all the relevant american ratings as well as CE, and its carbon fiber! NJ.

I've got the Icon Burner&Flat black helmets but i usually wear my Arai.
I like the Icon's but nothing beats the feel of a high dollar helmet.

Man someone brought this back from the past....check out metricbikes.com for Icon. Great prices and service. I really like their stuff. If I was on the track all the time I would get a suit, but I'm a street rider. I could take a pretty good spill in my burner jacket and walk away. Heavy, heavy leather with solid armor built in. Love my Timax gloves, too. I would suggest ordering a size or two bigger. I wear a 36" waist in jeans-hold it, I'm 6'3"

,but I needed a 40 waist in Icon jeans.

Just like I finally have a jacket I want from them that will fit me that I want. I ordered it in december and the wait for it is until APRIL 4th! WTF is the deal? Anyone else get irritated with this?
I ordered an Icon Motorhead leather jacket from newenough.com...I got it in like four days. Might want to give them a looksee, bro.

On the flipside, where I am in WI I face the same prob as you...only like two/three dealers and they all are a trip away. It sucks, man. I hear ya.

Hi, I sent you a few PMs the other day, have you not gotten them ?

I'll add another vote for newenough.com. Just ordered a Timax mesh jacket from them and shipping was very quick. They don't have the full line of Icon stuff though.

I just thought I would share an update on some icon issues I have had. Well I ordered the new Tarmac jacket on dec 18th and it was backordered and recieved on march 26th. YEAH! Look how long it took me to get this thing. Not to mention Icons sizing is a JOKE! It is definately made in china because to these guys a 4XL is about the equivalant of an amerincan medium sized t-shirt. I have a Joe Rocket mesh jack in 4XL and it fits VERY loosely just how I like it. I could not begin to stuff myself into this jacket so it was back to kneedraggers it went. Come on Icon make some sizes for us big boys. Secondly I don't know if anyone read my post earlier but an Icon helmet is NOT begging for a bent kneck at all. I was in a highspeed wreck in a HALO and it saved my head totally. I am speaking out of experience I would not be sitting here today if it weren't for my Icon helmet. And Nitrous Junkie is right the helmet exceeds DOT and Snell standards so that shows right there it is not an unsafe helmet. I think too many people are too hung up on if I don't pay 500$ for a helmet I am not getting a good one. Do some research on things. Just because it is cheaper does not make it worse. It just makes you a good consumer for getting a quality product at a cheap price. A friend of mine has rode with a SHOEI helmet till he met and started riding with me. We switched helmets one day and compared the features of them. He told me I was right and he saw nothing his helmet had that mine didn't offer at a cheaper price. When he replaced his he got a Halo and his wife got the new Skull helmet when she got a bike. I am not paying 500 Bucks for a helmet because I replace my helmet every year and a half or so like everyone should and the less I spend on a helmet is more I spend on mods.
