Cam Tensioner Poll...

3000 miles on my 00 and 2500 on the 99 and no problems. I do not like a manual tensioner. I rember the old units---if they were not adjusted properly, you would wear out your guides or ruin your chain. I am going to keep the stock unit in and hope Suzuki knows what they are doing.

I have a 99 with 15,000 miles on the clock...recall was done but the tensioner just went bye bye anyway. Its been at the dealer for almost a week but they haven't opened it up yet, maybe I'll be lucky.

I'm going to dig up the original recall notice from Suzuki - seems as though I remember them admiting and saying that the failure of the tentioner was serious and could lock up the bike etc.

Manual tensioner went in yesterday (with clutch mod haha JR!), I didn't realize the freaking bike has been noisy since I got it. MUCH quieter now. And safer. AND faster than JRBusa...

All you guys on the grandstand about hollering at suckzuki obviously don't mind your bike in the shop for months. Screw that. The manual tensioner isn't that hard to install.

hehehe
